Vik Church (Flatanger)
Vik Church ( no, Vik kirke) or Flatanger Church ( no, Flatanger kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Flatanger municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Vik. It is the main church for the Flatanger parish which is part of the Namdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1873 using plans drawn up by the architect Jacob Wilhelm Nordan. The church seats about 300 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1468, but it was not new that year. The old church was likely a stave church that was built in the 14th century. This list of churches in Nidaros is a list of the Church of Norway churches in the Diocese of Nidaros which covers all of Trøndelag county in Norway. The list is divided into several sections, one for each deanery in the diocese. Administratively within each deanery, the churches are divided by municipalities which have their own church council and then into parishes which have their own councils . Namdalen ( sma, Nååmesjevuemie) is a Districts of Norway, traditional district in the central part of Norway, consisting of the municipalities Namsos, Grong, Overhalla, Røyrvik, Nærøysund, Høylandet, Flatanger, Lierne, Leka, Norway, Leka, and Namsskogan, all in Trøndelag county. Løvøy Church
Løvøy Church or Nord-Flatanger Church ( no, Løvøy kirke / ) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Flatanger municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located on the island of Lauvøya, just north of the village of Lauvsnes. It is one of the two churches for the Flatanger parish which is part of the Namdal prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1872 using plans drawn up by the architect Jakobsen. The church seats about 200 people. History The church was built after the old church site was moved from Halmøya island to the present site of Vik Church in the southern part of the municipality. This church was built further north to serve that portion of the municipality. The foundation stone was laid on 9 July 1871 and then it was consecrated on 2 August 1872 by Bishop Andreas Grimelund. Fosnes is a former municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 2020 when it was merged into Namsos Municipality. It was part of the Namdalen region. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Dun on the island of Jøa. Other villages include Salsnes and Nufsfjord. At the time of its dissolution in 2020, the municipality was the 199th largest by area out of the 422 municipalities in Norway.
