Vijaya Vauhini Studios was one of the premier motion picture movie studios in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is the combination of Vijaya Productions and Vauhini Studios. B. Nagi Reddy (Bommireddy Nagi Reddy) was the founder of Vijaya Productions and Moola Narayana Swamy founded Vauhini Studios. History Being once considered as the largest film studio in Asia, Vijaya Vauhini Studios resulted from the merger between Vauhini Studios and Vijaya Productions, in 1948 when Telugu film producer Moola Narayana Swamy leased the studios which was under heavy liabilities to the Vijaya Productions run by B. Moola Narayana Swamy
Moola Narayana Swamy ( 20 August 1950) was an Indian businessman and film producer known for his works in Telugu cinema. He owned several businesses such as Rayalaseema Bank, Rayalaseema Textiles, Cuddapah Ceramics, Cuddapah Electric Company, oil mills, milk co-operative societies, arrack contracting, market yards. He was also known by the moniker ''Andhra Birla.'' He founded Vauhini Studios which was one of the largest film studios in Asia at the time. In later years, Nagi Reddi acquired Vauhini Studios and renamed it as Vijaya Vauhini Studios. Mayabazar
''Mayabazar'' () is a 1957 Indian epic Hindu mythological film directed by K. V. Reddy. It was produced by Nagi Reddi and Chakrapani under their banner, Vijaya Productions. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages, with a few differences in the cast. The story is an adaptation of the folk tale ''Sasirekha Parinayam'', which is based on the characters of the epic ''Mahabharata''. It revolves around the roles of Krishna (N. T. Rama Rao) and Ghatotkacha ( S. V. Ranga Rao), as they try to reunite Arjuna son Abhimanyu (Telugu: Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Tamil: Gemini Ganesan) with his love, Balarama's daughter ( Savitri). ''Guna Sundari'' or ''Gunasundari'' is a 1955 Indian Tamil-language film starring Gemini Ganesan and Savitri. The film was remake of the 1949 Telugu film ''Gunasundari Katha''. It was not successful at the box office. Plot Ugra Senan is the king of Dhara Nagaram. He has three daughters, Rupasundari, Hemasundari and Gunasundari. Gunasundari is the youngest. Their mother dies when Gunasundari is born. Ugra Senan brings up the three girls with the utmost care. Ramana Reddy
Ramana Reddy (1 October 1921 – 11 November 1974) was an Indian character actor, comedian and producer known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. In a career spanning 24 years, he acted in more than 200 movies. Ramana Reddy and Relangi were a comedy double act during the era of early Telugu cinema. Jamuna (actress)
Jamuna (born 30 August 1936) is an Indian actress, director and politician who appeared mainly in Telugu films. She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in Dr. Garikapati Rajarao's ''Puttillu'' (1953), and received her breakthrough with L. V. Prasad ''Missamma'' (1955). Her filmography also includes Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi films. She won a Filmfare Award and an award at Filmfare Awards South. Kamalakara Kameswara Rao (14 October 1911 – 29 June 1998) was an Indian film director known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, and a few Tamil and Hindi films. Widely known as ''Pauranika Chitra Brahma'' (), Kameswara Rao directed fifty feature films in a variety of genres. ''Shavukaru'' () is a 1950 Indian Telugu-language drama film directed by L. V. Prasad.
