Viggianello (; co, Vighjaneddu) is a commune in the Corse-du-Sud department of France on the island of Corsica. Location Viggianello is in the western plain to the east of the coastal town of Propriano. It lies between the Baraci river to the north and the Rizzanese river to the south. The Punta Savaziglia is on the eastern border of the commune. Corse-du-Sud (; co, link=no, Corsica suttana , or ; en, Southern Corsica) is (as of 2019) an administrative department of France, consisting of the southern part of the island of Corsica. The corresponding departmental territorial collectivity merged with that of Haute-Corse on 1 January 2018, forming the single territorial collectivity of Corsica, with territorial elections coinciding with the dissolution of the separate council. However, even though its administrative powers were ceded to the new territorial collectivity, it continues to remain an administrative department in its own right. The Rizzanese (french: Rivière u Rizzanese) is a coastal river in the southwest of department of Corse-du-Sud, Corsica, France. It is dammed near Sorbollano to form the Rizzanese Reservoir, which stores water for irrigation and supplies the largest hydroelectric power plant in Corsica, with installed capacity of 55 MW.
