Vietnamese Film Festival
The Vietnam Film Festival ( Vietnamese: Liên hoan phim Việt Nam), founded in 1970, is a domestic film festival of Vietnam. It is considered as the major event of Cinema of Vietnam with awards for numerous categories ranging from feature film to documentary film, animated film. The festival is held for each two or three years in different host cities all over Vietnam. History The first Vietnam Film Festival was held from August 18 to August 25, 1970 in Hanoi following an issue of Vietnamese Ministry of Culture with the purpose of "encouraging the development of the national cinema". For each festival, there are several juries of 7 to 11 members for different categories of feature film, direct-to-video, animated film and documentary film. 21st Vietnam Film Festival
The 21st Vietnam Film Festival was held from November 23 to November 27, 2019, in Vũng Tàu City, Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu province, Vietnam, with the slogan "Building a national, humane, creative and integrated Vietnamese film industry" (Vietnamese: "Xây dựng nền công nghiệp điện ảnh Việt Nam dân tộc, nhân văn, sáng tạo và hội nhập"). Event This is the first film festival held in Vũng Tàu city. The award system this year has not changed. Starting from the 20th Vietnam Film Festival, the organizers have emphasized the "cinematic" nature of this award by removing direct-to-video films from the award system. Haiphong ( vi, Hải Phòng, ), or Hải Phòng, is a major industrial city and the third-largest in Vietnam. 9th Vietnam Film Festival
The 9th Vietnam Film Festival was held from November 28 to December 2, 1990, in Nha Trang, Vietnam, with the slogan: "For artistic creativity and perfecting socialist Vietnamese people, for the development of national cinema" (Vietnamese: "Vì sự sáng tạo nghệ thuật và hoàn thiện con người Việt Nam xã hội chủ nghĩa, vì sự phát triển của nền điện ảnh dân tộc"). The 8th Vietnam Film Festival was held from March 15 to March 22, 1988, in Danang, Vietnam, with the slogan "For the creation of art and perfection of the new socialist people.
