9th Vietnam Film Festival
The 9th Vietnam Film Festival was held from November 28 to December 2, 1990, in Nha Trang, Vietnam, with the slogan: "For artistic creativity and perfecting socialist Vietnamese people, for the development of national cinema" (Vietnamese: "Vì sự sáng tạo nghệ thuật và hoàn thiện con người Việt Nam xã hội chủ nghĩa, vì sự phát triển của nền điện ảnh dân tộc"). Event This film festival has 108 films participating. For the first time, the festival opened an additional film section for the direct-to-video feature film category. There is not a single Golden Lotus for feature film, direct-to-video film, children and animated film. The jury only awarded the Golden Lotus for two documentaries about Leader Hồ Chí Minh: "''Hồ Chí Minh: Chân dung một con người''" and "''Hồ Chí Minh: Hình ảnh của Người''". Nha Trang
Nha Trang ( or ; ) is a coastal city and capital of Khánh Hòa Province, on the South Central Coast of Vietnam. Best Actress Award (Vietnamese: Giải nữ diễn viên chính xuất sắc) is one of the awards presented at the Vietnam Film Festival to recognize an actress with the performance which has been determined the best by the juries of feature film and direct-to-video categories. History The category was awarded for the first time in the 2nd Vietnam Film Festival (1973). Trà Giang, Minh Châu, Hồng Ánh and Lê Khanh are all holding the record in this category with two awards. Thu Hà was also awarded two but one of them is for the role in a direct-to-video feature film. The achievement in a direct-to-video feature film, which was first awarded in the 9th Vietnam Film Festival (1990), is no longer awarded since the 20th Vietnam Film Festival (2017). Việt Linh (b. Nguyễn Việt Linh in Saigon, French Indochina (now southern Vietnam), 1952) is a prominent Vietnamese film director. She currently lives and works in Paris, France. Her films have been shown in Vietnam, France, the United States and Australia. She started working in cinema at the beginning of 1971. Between 1980 and 1985, she studied at the VGIK in the former Soviet Union, graduating in 1985. She then began working for Vietnam's state-owned Giải Phóng Film Studio in Ho Chi Minh City.
