The Vietnam International Series is an international badminton tournament held in Vietnam. This tournament has been an BWF International Series, International Series level since it was established in 2014. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Chen Boyang
Chen Boyang (; born 6 May 2000) is a Chinese badminton player. He won his first senior title at the Vietnam International Series in 2022 with his partner Liu Yi. Career Chen competed in his first tournament with Guo Ruohan at the 2017 China International. He lost in the second round. In November 2022, he formed a new partnership with Liu Yi and won his first tournament at the Vietnam International Series. In that same month, Chen and Liu won their second title at the Malaysia International Series tournament. Nguyễn Thùy Linh (born 20 November 1997) is a Vietnamese badminton player. She started her career by leaving her hometown in Phú Thọ Province, train at the Hanoi badminton club, and later joined Da Nang club. She represented her country at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games when she was 18 years old. Liu Liang (badminton)
Liu Liang (; born July 1957) is a Chinese physician and currently president of Macau University of Science and Technology. Liu is a world leading scholar in rheumatology and immunology. Biography Liu was born in Hanshou County, Hunan, in July 1957. From 1975 to 1977 he studied at Changde Health School. He earned a bachelor's degree in 1982, a master's degree in 1985, and a doctor's degree in 1990, all from Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. After graduating, he taught at the university, where he was promoted to vice-president in 1997. He was a visiting scholar at Hannover Medical School and University of Erlangen–Nuremberg between 1992 and 1994. COVID-19 Pandemic In Vietnam
The COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The number of confirmed cases is the highest total in Southeast Asia, and the 13th highest in the world. Hanoi is the most affected locale with 1,609,473 confirmed cases and 1,221 deaths, followed by Ho Chi Minh City with 612,746 cases and 19,984 deaths; however, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health has estimated that the real number of cases may be four to five times higher. On 31 December 2019, China announced the discovery of a cluster of pneumonia cases in Wuhan. The news of a "strange pneumonia" in China had been circulating on Vietnamese media since the beginning of January 2020.
