The Vietnam International or Vietnam Satellite or Hanoi International in badminton is an international tournament held in Vietnam. This tournament has been an International Challenge level since 2008. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Sudket Prapakamol
Sudket Prapakamol ( th, สุดเขต ประภากมล; ; born 8 February 1980) is a badminton player from Thailand. He is a police lieutenant and a sportsman like his brother. He has a Bachelor's degree from the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce. Career He competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Patapol Ngernsrisuk. They were defeated in the round of 32 by Anthony Clark and Nathan Robertson of Great Britain. Prapakamol also competed in the mixed doubles with partner Saralee Thungthongkam. They had a bye in the first round and were defeated by Fredrik Bergström and Johanna Persson of Sweden in the round of 16. He played for Thailand in Thomas Cup 2008 as with Songpol Anukritayawan. Mohd Zakry Abdul Latif
Mohd Zakry bin Abdul Latif (born 2 April 1983) is a former Malaysian badminton player. Career 2007 Mohd Zakry played at the 2007 BWF World Championships in men's doubles with Mohd Fairuzizuan Mohd Tazari. They were seeded #7 and were defeated in the second round by Guo Zhendong and Xie Zhongbo, of China, 21-14, 21-13. At the 2007 China Open Super Series they beat the tournament number two seeded, Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng in three sets in the first round. Gan Teik Chai
James Gan Teik Chai (颜德财) (born 5 February 1983) is a Malaysian badminton player. He won the men's doubles title at the 2004 French International tournament partnered with Koo Kien Keat. He also won the 2009 Australian Open Grand Prix tournament with Tan Bin Shen. Teamed-up with Ong Soon Hock, he won the 2012 BWF International tournament in Mauritius, Argentina, and Brazil. Sujitra Ekmongkolpaisarn ( th, สุจิตรา เอกมงคลไพศาล; born 17 June 1977) is a former Thai badminton player. She competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia in the women's singles and doubles event. Ekmongkolpaisarn was the bronze medalists at the 1998 Asian Games in the women's team event, 2002 Asian Games in the singles event, and at the 1999 Asian Championships in the doubles event. Simon Santoso
Simon Santoso (born 29 July 1985) is an Indonesian former badminton player. He was two-time Southeast Asian Games men's singles champion winning in 2009 and 2011, also featured in Indonesia team that won the men's team title in 2003, 2007, 2009, and 2011. Santoso won the Indonesia Open a Superseries Premier tournament in 2012. He reached a career high as world number 3 in August 2010. Career When he was young, Santoso joined the Tangkas Jakarta badminton club before joining the Indonesian National team. In 2005, he won the Vietnam Satellite and the silver medal at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games. Kunchala Voravichitchaikul ( th, กุลชลา วรวิจิตรชัยกุล; born 14 November 1984) is an internationally elite badminton player from Thailand. She competed at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 Asian Games. Kunchala Voravichitchaikul is a doubles specialist who is paired with Duanganong Aroonkesorn in women's doubles and Songphon Anugritayawon in mixed doubles. She is a veteran of one World Championship, the 2010 Paris Worlds where she failed to make the quarter-finals in both events. Rian Sukmawan
Rian Sukmawan (21 November 1985 – 27 February 2016) was a professional badminton player from Indonesia. Career Sukmawan was a doubles specialist. In 2006, he won the men's doubles at the Dutch and New Zealand Opens with fellow countryman Eng Hian. In 2007, he won the Dutch Open again with partner Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki. Death Rian Sukmawan died on 27 February 2016 of a heart attack after playing in an exhibition match in Semarang with some former players, including Tri Kusharjanto. According to Kusharjanto, Sukmawan went outside for some rest before a security guard found him laying on a bench outside the arena alone and asking for help.
