Rian Sukmawan
Rian Sukmawan (21 November 1985 – 27 February 2016) was a professional badminton player from Indonesia. Career Sukmawan was a doubles specialist. In 2006, he won the men's doubles at the Dutch and New Zealand Opens with fellow countryman Eng Hian. In 2007, he won the Dutch Open again with partner Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki. Death Rian Sukmawan died on 27 February 2016 of a heart attack after playing in an exhibition match in Semarang with some former players, including Tri Kusharjanto. According to Kusharjanto, Sukmawan went outside for some rest before a security guard found him laying on a bench outside the arena alone and asking for help. He was rushed to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival. Markis Kido
Markis Kido (11 August 1984 – 14 June 2021) was an Indonesian badminton player and one of the world's leading in men's doubles discipline. He won the discipline's gold medal at the 2006 World Cup, 2007 World Championships, 2008 Olympic Games, 2009 Asia Championships, and 2010 Asian Games with Hendra Setiawan. Career In 2005, with Hendra Setiawan, he won the Asian Badminton Championships and the Indonesia Open. In 2006, the pair also won the Jakarta Satellite, the Hong Kong Open and the China Open after defeating Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng 21–16, 21–16 at the finals. Hendri Kurniawan Saputra
Hendri Kurniawan Saputra (born 12 May 1981) is an Indonesian-born Singaporean retired badminton player. Career Saputra and his brother, Hendra Wijaya, joined the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) in 2000 and both became Singapore citizens after five years. He won a silver medal, along with his brother and also partner, Hendra Wijaya, in the men's doubles, and bronze with Li Yujia in the mixed doubles at the 2007 Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand. Saputra represented Singapore at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, where he competed in the mixed doubles. The BWF Super Series Finals (named as BWF Super Series Masters Finals until 2009) was an annual badminton tournament held at the end of the year where the players with the most points from that calendar year's twelve events of the BWF Super Series competed for total prize money of at least US$ 1,000,000. Hendra Setiawan
Hendra Setiawan (born 25 August 1984) is an Indonesian badminton player. He is an Olympic Games gold medalist, four-time World Champion, two-time Asian Games gold medalist, and two-time All England champion. With these achievements, Setiawan has collected all major individual titles in badminton. He is considered to be one of the greatest men's doubles players in badminton history. Setiawan was ranked first in the men's doubles with two different partners. Together with Markis Kido, he achieved the world no. 1 in September 2007, and with Mohammad Ahsan in November 2013. Yonatan Suryatama Dasuki
Yonathan Suryatama Dasuki (born 21 November 1985) is a retired Indonesian badminton player specializing in doubles from Djarum club. He won the men's doubles title at the 2005 Indonesian National Championships. In the international tournaments, Dasuki has been partnering with some players, like Rian Sukmawan and Hendra Aprida Gunawan. BWF Superseries
The BWF Super Series was a series of Grade 2 badminton tournaments, sanctioned by Badminton World Federation (BWF). It was launched on December 14, 2006 and implemented in 2007. Since 2011, the Super Series includes two levels of tournament, Super Series Premier and Super Series. A season of Super Series featured twelve tournaments around the world, including five of them classified as Super Series Premier. Super Series Premier tournament offers higher ranking point and higher minimum total prize money. Top eight players/pairs in each discipline in Super Series standings are invited to the Super Series Finals held at the year end.
