''Vier Frauen und ein Todesfall '' is an Austrian crime television series, first aired on the Austrian television channel "ORF eins" in 2005. The show also aired in Switzerland on SRF1, in Germany on RTL Crime and on the Franco-German TV network Arte dubbed in French. The sending-rights were sold to Slovenia, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and Denmark. Plot The four so-called "funeral friends" live in a small Austrian village and visit every funeral there. They always have their own theories about how people died and start investigations themselves because of the incompetence of the village police. With that, they often make enemies among the village's other inhabitants. Critical reception At the beginning the show seemed to be a flop, but the ratings are still very good (1.3 million). Wolf Haas
Wolf Haas (born 14 December 1960) is an Austrian writer. He is most widely known for his crime fiction novels featuring detective Simon Brenner, four of which were made into films. He has won several prizes for his works, including the German prize for crime fiction (''Deutscher Krimipreis''). Life Wolf Haas was born in 1960 in Maria Alm am Steinernen Meer, which is part of the Austrian province of Salzburg. Retrieved 3 August 2011. After university he worked as an advertising copywriter. Between 1996 and 2003 he wrote seven detective stories, of which six featured detective Simon Brenner. Adele Neuhauser (born 17 January 1959 in Athens, Greece) is an Austrian actress. She began her career as a theater actress. Later she also worked for television and cinema. She is a member of the Akademie des Österreichischen Films. Life Adele Neuhauser was born in Athens but moved at the age of four with her family from Greece to Vienna, where she grew up. Her mother left the family with Neuhauser's half-brother and Neuhauser and her brother stayed with their Greek father George. Later she grew up alone with him. Arte (; (), sometimes stylized in lowercase or uppercase in its logo) is a European public service channel dedicated to culture.
