Victoria Sporting Club cricket team is a team that played List A cricket in the Dhaka Premier League up to the 2016–17 season. History Victoria Sporting Club cricket team won the Dhaka Premier League title four times in the years before it became a List A competition. In May 2017, they were relegated from the 2016–17 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League down to the Dhaka First Division Cricket League. List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. The Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, also known as the Dhaka Premier League, is a club List A tournament in Bangladesh. History Since its inauguration in 1973–74 the league has been the premier club cricket competition in Bangladesh. It gained List A status starting with the 2013–14 tournament, thus superseding the National Cricket League One-Day as Bangladesh's main List A competition. In the years from 1973–74 to 2011–12, Abahani Limited won the championship 17 times. Other winners were Mohammedan Sporting Club nine times, Biman Bangladesh Airlines five times, Victoria Sporting Club four times, Old DOHS Sports Club twice and Brothers Union once. 2016–17 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League
The 2016–17 Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League was the fourth edition of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, a List A cricket competition that was held in Bangladesh between April and June 2017. The tournament started on 12 April 2017 with player transfers beginning on 17 March 2017. Abahani Limited were the defending champions. The first part of the tournament was played as a round-robin, before progressing to the championship and relegation phase. In the first relegation play-off match, Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity defeated Partex Sporting Club by 8 wickets, therefore relegating Partex and Victoria Sporting Club to the Dhaka First Division Cricket League. The tournament was won by Gazi Group Cricketers, their first title. Nasir Hossain ( bn, নাসির হোসেন; born 30 November 1991) is a Bangladeshi cricketer. He represents Rangpur Division at domestic level. He made his international debut for Bangladesh in August 2011. Nadif Chowdhury (born 21 April 1987) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who has represented Bangladesh Under-19s and has played Twenty20 Internationals for his country. Monir Hossain (born 27 January 1985) is a Bangladeshi cricketer who has played at First-class, List A and Twenty20 level. He is a left-handed batsman and slow left arm orthodox bowler. Chamara Kantha Kapugedera ( si, චාමර කපුගෙදර, born 24 February 1987), commonly Chamara Kapugedera, is a former international Sri Lankan cricketer who played all formats of the game, and was a former One Day International captain. Pinnaduwage Chaturanga de Silva (born 17 January 1990), or Chaturanga de Silva, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer who plays limited over cricket.
