Victoria Carter
Victoria Mary Carter is a former New Zealand politician. She is now a professional company director and businesswoman. Early life Carter, born in England, came to New Zealand with her mother, journalist Valerie Davies. Her stepfather was journalist, Pat Booth. Education and early career Carter holds a law degree from the University of Auckland and has a varied background in public relations, marketing, and governance. Carter has served on the boards of Kidicorp, Turner’s Auctions, New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, Auckland Racing Club, and JUCY group. Auckland City Council
Auckland City Council was the local government authority for Auckland City, New Zealand, from 1871 to 1 November 2010, when it and Auckland's six other city and district councils were amalgamated to form the Auckland Council. Cityhop
Cityhop is New Zealand's first carsharing service operating in both Auckland and Wellington. It was founded by former Auckland City councillor Victoria Carter with JUCY, a rental car and campervan company. In 2018, Cityhop has 80 vehicles and more than 3000 active drivers. It was bought by Toyota New Zealand in November 2018 and had about 6,000 members and 120 vehicles in 2019. As of 2020 Cityhop now has over 150 cars and vans across Auckland and Wellington with over 10,000 members. Cityhop was launched in Auckland in August 2007 by Prime Minister Helen Clark and began with three cars in Auckland Council carparks. This was followed by three cars in Wellington in late 2008. Formerly known as Auckland Festival, Auckland Arts Festival or is an annual arts and cultural festival held in Auckland, New Zealand. The Festival features works from New Zealand, the Pacific, Asia and beyond, including world premieres of new works and international performing arts events. History The first Auckland Festival of the Arts was held in 1953, after four annual music festivals were held from 1949 to 1952. A bigger festival was planned due to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The festival continued annually until the 1980s and the last one was held in 1982. In September 2003 the inaugural event of the "new" Auckland Festival took place.
