Victoria, Brașov
Victoria (; ; ) is a town in the western part of Brașov County, Transylvania, Romania. It had a population of 6,446 at the 2021 census. Geography The town is located in the western part of Brașov County, from the county seat, Brașov, on the border with Sibiu County. In lies in the historical region of Țara Făgărașului, halfway between the Olt River to the north and the Făgăraș Mountains to the south. History In 1939, the Romanian state signed a contract with the German company Ferrostaal of Essen to build a factory (called "Ucea") on the site of what is now Victoria. The contract was canceled after Romania declared war on Germany in 1944, during World War II. The building of the town began in 1949 and it had the provisional names of "Colonia Ucea" and "Ucea Roșie" (Red Ucea), only to be changed in November 1954 to Victoria. Făgăraș Mountains
The Făgăraș Mountains ( ; ) are the highest mountains of the Southern Carpathians, in Romania. Geography The mountain range is situated in the heart of Romania, at . The range is bordered in the north by the Făgăraș Depression, through which the Olt River flows, and in the west by the Olt Valley (Valea Oltului). Despite its name, Făgăraș, located to the north, is not the nearest town to the mountain range, which has no major settlements. Other important surrounding cities are Brașov and Sibiu. Glacier lakes include Bâlea (2,034 m, 46,508 m2, 11.35 m deep), the largest. The highest lake is in the Hărtopul Leaotei glacial valley. The deepest glacial lake is Podragu (2,140 m, 28,550 m2; 15.5 m deep). Other lakes are Urlea (2,170 m, 20,150 m2) and Capra (2,230 m, 18,340 m2). Utrechtse Heuvelrug
Utrechtse Heuvelrug (; ) is a municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht (province), Utrecht. It was formed on 1 January 2006 by merging the former municipalities of Amerongen, Doorn, Driebergen-Rijsenburg, Leersum, and Maarn. Name The name of the municipality is derived from the Utrecht Hill Ridge, a ridge of sandhills that covers part of the province of Utrecht. All the former municipalities that merged into Utrechtse Heuvelrug are situated on the southern part of this ridge. In this southern part lies the Utrechtse Heuvelrug National Park, that covers and was established in 2003.
