Victonara Galang
Victonara "Ara" Salas Galang (born January 4, 1995) is a multi-awarded, Filipina volleyball player. She was UAAP Rookie of the Year and Best Server during the Season 74 and UAAP Most Valuable Player in the Season 75. She is the former team captain (2014-2015) of the De La Salle University Lady Spikers. Career Galang was discovered by DLSU Lady Spikers head coach, Ramil de Jesus during one of her games at the Shakey's V-League girls division in 2009. She was a junior high school at Angeles University Foundation at that time. She played with AUF Great Danes from 2007 to 2011, being awarded Best Attacker in 2011 in the Shakey's Girls Volleyball League. She have been awarded with the Sports Achievement Award and Class Valedictorian while in Holy Family Academy in elementary school, Athlete of the Year and Class Valedictorian in the Angeles University Foundation High School and Consistent Dean's Lister in De La Salle University. The 2016 Asics PSL Grand Prix was the second indoor conference of the Philippine Super Liga for its 2016 PSL season, fourth season. UAAP Season 78 Volleyball Tournaments
The UAAP Season 78 high school volleyball tournament started on August 22, 2015. The tournament venue is the Adamson University Gym in San Marcelino St., Ermita, Manila. Adamson is the tournament host. The number of participating schools in the boys' and girls' tournaments both increased to seven. Far Eastern University fielded boys' and girls' volleyball teams beginning season 77. Since there are now seven participating schools, the tournaments have a Final Four format. The UAAP Board decided to move the high school volleyball tournaments from 2nd semester to 1st semester due to the basketball juniors tournament being moved from the 1st semester to 2nd semester. The UAAP Season 77 seniors' division volleyball tournament started on November 22, 2014 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila. Opening-day games were the women's teams of UE vs UST at 2 PM and Ateneo vs NU at 4 PM. The tournament main venue was the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City while selected games will be played at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, and the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay. DLSU Lady Spikers
The De La Salle University Lady Spikers is the official women's volleyball team of De La Salle University. History The Lady Spikers were the first NCAA women's champions in volleyball when the tournament was introduced in NCAA Season 51 (1975–76). The first UAAP title of the team came in Season 62 (2000). They then won the UAAP title in 2004, 2005, 2006 (as 3-peat champions), 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013 (as 3-peat champions), and 2016, 2017, 2018 (as 3-peat champions). They have won a total of eleven (11) titles. The Lady Spikers hold the distinction of having appeared in the Finals for ten consecutive times from UAAP Seasons 71 to 80 (2009–2018) which is the longest streak in the Final Four era of the UAAP.
