The 2019 PSL Grand Prix was the first conference and first indoor tournament for the Philippine Super Liga's seventh season. The formal opening ceremony and games began on February 16, 2019, at the Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig. Petron Blaze Spikers
The Petron Blaze Spikers were a professional women's volleyball team that played in the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) from 2013 to 2020. After the cancellation of the 2020 season of the PSL due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the team took a leave of absence from the league and released all its players. The team was owned by Petron Corporation. The company's involvement in volleyball began in 2002 when it established the Petron Ladies Beach Volleyball Tournament. Team history Petron became the first team to sweep a PSL tournament with a 13–0 record and claim the 2015 All-Filipino championship, its second consecutive PSL title. At their stint in the 2015 Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship in Ha Nam, Vietnam, the team finished at 8th place with only one game won out of six matches played. María José Pérez (volleyball)
María José Pérez González (born 18 March 1988 in Aragua) is a female volleyball player from Venezuela who competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Her team finished in 11th place. Career With her national team, she participated at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, finishing in 5th place. A year later, she won the bronze medal at the 2007 South American Championship. She signed with Llaneras de Toa Baja for the 2008 season of Puerto Rican league, Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino. Later that year, started playing with the Finnish club ''Liiga Eura''. She started the 2014 playing the Indonesian Proliga with Manokwari Valeria Papua Barat. Pérez later won the 2014 Venezuelan League championship silver medal with Académicas de Caracas and was awarded best scorer. United Volleyball Club
The United VC was a professional women's volleyball team in the Philippine Superliga (PSL). Established in 2017, the club debuted under the sponsorship of United Coconut Planters Life Assurance Corporation (COCOLIFE) and played as the COCOLIFE Asset Managers from the 2017 to 2018 seasons. Grethcel Soltones (sometimes mistakenly named as Gretchel Soltones) (born September 9, 1995) is a Filipina volleyball player for the Petro Gazz Angels in the Premier Volleyball League. Early life Grethcel Soltones was born and raised in Catmon, Cebu. The PLDT High Speed Hitters (formerly the Smart Giga Hitters and the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters) is the professional women's volleyball team owned by PLDT. History The team debuted in 2018 as the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters. The team was owned by Smart Communications. For the 2018 PSL Invitational Cup, the team partnered with the Philippine Army Lady Troopers and competed as the Smart–Army Giga Hitters. In September 2018, the PayMaya High Flyers, their affiliate team in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), was merged with the team. In February 2019, the Smart Prepaid Giga Hitters changed its name to the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters. The team transferred to the PVL in February 2021, following the league's professionalization. Katherine Briana "Khat" Bell (born May 5, 1993) is an American volleyball player who played for the Petron Blaze Spikers in the Philippine Super Liga from 2018 to 2020. She currently plays for Korea Expressway Corporation Hi-Pass in the Korean V-League. Early life Bell was born on March 5, 1993 to Kenneth Bell and Regina Williams. The Generika Ayala Lifesavers are a professional women's volleyball team owned by Actimed, Inc. (Generika Drugstore) in partnership with Ayala Corporation. History Generika Drugstore first became involved in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) when it sponsored the Philippine Army Lady Troopers during the 2014 All-Filipino Conference, playing as the "Generika-Army Lady Troopers".
