Vetelino Nau
Vetelino Nau is a Wallisian politician and former member of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna. He was President of the Territorial Assembly from April to November 2012. Nau is from Alo in Futuna and was a schoolteacher before entering politics. He was first elected to the Territorial Assembly in the 1997 election. In 2002 he was a founder of the People's Union for Wallis and Futuna (UPFW). He contested Wallis and Futuna's senate seat in the 2008 French Senate election, losing to Robert Laufoaulu by 8 votes to 13. He was re-elected to the Territorial Assembly at the 2012 election and elected as president of the assembly, becoming the first Socialist to hold the position. He was replaced by Sosefo Suve in November 2012. Territorial Assembly Of Wallis And Futuna
The Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna (French: ''Assemblée Territoriale''; Wallisian and Futunan: ''Fono fakatelituale'') is the legislature of Wallis and Futuna. It consists of 20 members, elected for a five-year term by proportional representation in multi-seat constituencies. The Assembly sits in Mata Utu, the capital of the territory. He was President of the Territorial Assembly twice, from April to December 2007, and from 2011 to 2012. He was first elected President of the Assembly in April 2007. Futuna (; ) is an island in the Pacific Ocean occupying area of with a population of 10,912. Robert Laufoaulu
Robert Laufoaulu (born 7 July 1947) is a Wallisian politician. He represented Wallis and Futuna in the Senate of France from 1998 to 2020. A teacher by profession, Laufoaulu was first elected to the Senate in 1998. He was not one of the six candidates in the first round, who all sat in the territorial assembly, but was nominated for the second round by the alliance of parties opposed to candidate Kamilo Gata , former deputy for Wallis-and-Futuna. He won the second round by 14 votes to 7. He was re-elected in the first round in the Senatorial elections of 2008 and 2014.
