Verwood Town Football Club are a football club based in Verwood, Dorset, England. The club is affiliated to the Dorset County Football Association and is a FA chartered Standard club. They play in the . Long term manager Adie Arnold resigned from his post in March 2014, ending an -year association with the club. After a succession of management changes Adie Arnold came back to manage the club once again for a period through to December 2021. Shepherd & Tabor were appointed on the 3rd January 2022 and went on to win their first game in charge 2-3 away to local rivals Ringwood Town on the same day. History The club was founded in 1905. They had entered the Hampshire League before 1989, and were runners-up in Division One in 2002–03. They were among the founding members of Wessex League Division Three in 2004. Verwood is a town and civil parish in eastern Dorset, England. The town lies north of Bournemouth and north east of Poole as the crow flies. The civil parish comprises the town of Verwood together with the extended village of Three Legged Cross, and has a population of 15,170 according to latest figures (2014) from Dorset County Council. The Dorset County FA traces its root back to the South Hants and Dorset Football Association which was founded in 1884. Hampshire League
The Hampshire League was a football league in Hampshire, England. During its heyday its constitution consisted of four divisions with over 60 clubs taking part - this included a vast number of semi-professional teams and Reserve/’A’ sides of the areas professional clubs with many famous players playing in its matches over the years, often in front of large crowds. The league ran for 108 years, from 1896 until 2004 - after which two competitions have since spawned from it; the Hampshire League 2004 (an unofficial continuation) and the Hampshire Premier Football League. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA). The Football Association Challenge Vase, usually referred to as the FA Vase, is an annual football competition for teams playing in Steps 5 and 6 of the English National League System (or equivalently, tier 9 or 10 of the overall English football league system). For the 2017–18 season 619 entrants were accepted, with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium.
