Veronica Kvassetskaia-Tsyglan
Veronica Kvassetskaia-Tsyglan (Kva-set–sky-ya – t-see-g-lan) (born December 28, 1966) is a Canadian classical realist painter specializing in the Old Masters' technique. She is active in the contemporary revival of the classical tradition of fine art portraiture in Canada. She founded the Portrait Society of Canada in 2001 in Toronto, Canada and is the current chairman. Life Kvassetskaia was born on December 28, 1966, in Moscow to Russian mother Taisia Levicheva and Polish father Vladimir Kvassetski. She has an older sister named Olga. Kvassetskaia-Tsyglan began displaying talent and an affection for the arts at an early age—playing the violin, singing, sculpting and drawing. Later on, she developed an interest in analytical chemistry, science and psychology. Frederick Horsman Varley Art Gallery, or the Varley Art Gallery of Markham, is an art museum in Markham, Ontario, Canada. The museum is situated in a building on Main Street Unionville. The gallery was named after Frederick Varley, an artist from the Group of Seven, and was opened in May 1997. The gallery features a frequent changing of displays of the artwork done by local, national, and international artists. The gallery offers group tours, school programs, studio courses and workshops, courses and lectures, and family activities. The art gallery is a short walk from Salem-Eckhardt House, the historical figure Kathleen Gormley McKay's residence. The house was built in the 1840s, and later became home to Frederick Varley. CTV Drama Channel (formerly known as Bravo) is a Canadian English language specialty channel owned by Bell Media. The channel was founded as the Canadian version of the U.S. channel Bravo (which is now owned by NBCUniversal) on January 1, 1995 by Moses Znaimer and its owner CHUM Limited, and originally focused on performing arts, drama, and independent film.
