Verbandsliga Sachsen-Anhalt
The Verbandsliga Sachsen-Anhalt is the sixth tier of the German football league system and the highest league in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt (german: Sachsen-Anhalt). Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fifth tier of the league system, until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the fourth tier. Overview The ''Verbandsliga Sachsen-Anhalt'' was established in 1990 from fourteen clubs as the highest league for the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, which was established after the league in October 1990, and the Sachsen-Anhalt Football Association, SFV (german: Fußballverband Sachsen-Anhalt). It compromised the area of the two Bezirksligen of Magdeburg and Halle. Each of those two Bezirke contributed seven clubs to the new league, with one club each coming from the '' 2nd Division''. NOFV-Oberliga Süd
The NOFV-Oberliga Süd is the fifth tier of the German football league system in the southern states of the former East Germany. It covers the German states of Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia, Saxony and southern Brandenburg. It is one of fourteen Oberligas in German football. Until the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008 it was the fourth tier of the league system, and until the introduction of the Regionalligas in 1994 the third tier. Overview The NOFV-Oberliga Sud was formed in 1991 when, along with the political reunion of Germany, the East German football league system was integrated into a unified German system. The abbreviation NOFV stands for ''Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband'', meaning ''North East German Football Association''. Along with this league, two other NOFV-Oberligen were formed, the NOFV-Oberliga Mitte and the NOFV-Oberliga Nord. VfL Halle 1896 is a Football in Germany, German football club from the city of Halle (Saale) in Saxony-Anhalt. History The oldest club in the city of Halle was founded as ''Hallescher Fußballclub von 1896'' on 16 July 1896. ''HFC'' was one of a dozen clubs that formed the VMBV (Verbandes Mitteldeutscher Ballspielvereine or Federation of Middle German Football Teams) on 16 December 1900 and was a Founding Clubs of the DFB, founding member of the DFB (German Football Association, Deutscher Fußball-Bund) in Leipzig in January 1900. FC Grün-Weiß Wolfen was a Football in Germany, German association football club from the industrial city of Bitterfeld-Wolfen in southern Saxony-Anhalt. History After an Agfa factory had been founded in Wolfen in 1909, the city experienced a boom that also led to the creation of the ''Wolfener Ballspielclub'' in 1915. This club was later renamed, first becoming ''VfL Wolfen'' and then ''IG Farben Sportverein''. After World War II all sports clubs and associations in Germany were dissolved. VfB Sangerhausen is a German association football club from the city of Sangerhausen, Saxony-Anhalt. __TOC__ History The roots of the club go back to the formation of ''VfB Sangerhausen'' in 1906. Following the end of World War II occupying Allied authorities ordered the dissolution of most organizations in Germany, including sports and football clubs, and the team was lost. In 1945 the former membership of ''VfB'' and other sports clubs were re-organized as ''Sportgemeinde Sangerhausen''. Area footballers established ''SG Wacker 48 Sangerhausen'' in 1948. SV Dessau 05 is a German association football club based in Dessau, Saxony-Anhalt. They distinguished themselves in 1949 as winners of the inaugural FDGB-Pokal, the East German Cup. History The club was founded in July 1905 as ''FC Adler'' and in October of that year merged with the football department of the church youth group ''Jugendvereins zu St. Johannis'' to become ''Dessauer FC''. VfB Germania Halberstadt is a German football club from Halberstadt in Saxony-Anhalt. History The club was founded on 26 October 1949 as ''Betriebssportgemeinschaft Reichsbahn Halberstadt'' before being renamed ''BSG Lokomotive Halberstadt'' in 1950. Through the 1970s the team played in the East German third division DDR-Bezirksliga. Hallescher FC, sometimes still called by its former popular name Chemie Halle, is a German association football club based in Halle an der Saale, Saxony-Anhalt. The club currently plays in the 3. Liga, the third highest level in the German football league system. For many years, Halle had been in East Germany's highest league, the DDR-Oberliga, up-until the German reunification. However, like many other teams from the former East, it then suffered the effects of economic and demographic decline in the region in the 1990s and fell down to amateur leagues. ASG Vorwärts Dessau
ASG Vorwärts Dessau is a German association football club based in Dessau-Roßlau, Saxony-Anhalt. History ASG Vorwärts At the end of the 1973–74 season of the second-tier DDR-Liga the leadership of the Armeesportvereinigung Vorwärts decided to move ASG Vorwärts Leipzig to Dessau. Consequently, the Armeesportgemeinschaft (ASG) Vorwärts Dessau was founded on 4 September 1974, taking over the league spot from Leipzig with the start of the 1974–75 season.
