Carl Venne
Carl Venne (July 20, 1946 – February 15, 2009), whose Crow name was Aashiise Dakatak Baacheitchish, was, until his death, the chairman of the executive branch of the Crow Nation. He won a November 2002 special election held after the September 2002 resignation of Chairman Clifford Birdinground. Venne was sworn into office on November 12, 2002. He served until his death on February 15, 2009. Venne served on the Montana Meth Project and Advisory Council of the State of Montana Department of Corrections. Venne died on February 15, 2009, aged 62. He had two daughters and one son. James Myles Venne (died November 28, 2007) was a northern Saskatchewan First Nations leader. He served as chief of the Lac La Ronge First Nation The Lac La Ronge Indian Band ( cr, ᒥᐢᑕᐦᐃ ᓵᑲᐦᐃᑲᓂᕽ, mistahi-sâkahikanihk) is a Woodland Cree First Nation in northern Saskatchewan, it is the largest Cree band government in Canada and the largest First Nation in Saskatch ... from 1971 to 1983 and then again from 1985 to 1987. Joseph Venne (1858–1925) was a prominent Canadian architect whose practice was located in Montreal, Quebec. During a long and distinguished career he designed more than sixty buildings in the Montreal area and three large catholic churches in Massachusetts. Early life and architectural training Born in Montreal in 1858, he quickly established himself into the network of prominent architects who erected buildings for most French-speaking Montrealers. Architectural practice Mr. Venne was architect for over a hundred buildings, including several churches, schools and the famous National Monument. Lottie Venne (28 May 1852 – 16 July 1928) was a British comedian, actress and singer of the Victorian and Edwardian eras, who enjoyed a theatre career spanning five decades. Venne began her stage career in musical burlesque before moving into farce and comedy. She appeared in several works by each of F. C. Burnand and W. S. Gilbert and was often in plays with Charles Hawtrey later in her career. Early life and career Born as Hannah Charlotte Venne, her first professional appearance came in 1867 as Miss Charbonnel in ''A Dream in Venice'' at the Gallery of Illustration in London, followed by two years touring in the provinces. Michel Venne (born in 1960) is a Canadian journalist, author and intellectual. He is a columnist for the Montreal newspaper ''Le Devoir''. He is founder and director of the Institut du Nouveau Monde. Venne is a vocal advocate of Quebec independence and of progressive, social democratic politics. Venne studied communications at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) and political science at Université Laval, in Quebec City. Pierrette Venne (born 8 August 1945 in Beauharnois, Quebec) was a member of the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 2003. By career, she is a lawyer. Venne was elected in the Saint-Hubert electoral district as a member of the Progressive Conservative Party in the 1988 general election. The riding had been created from a restructuring of two ridings. She was re-elected in Saint-Hubert in the 1993 general election, and was also re-elected in 1997 and 2000 when the riding was renamed Saint-Bruno—Saint-Hubert. Stéphane Venne (born July 2, 1941 in Verdun, Quebec) is a French-Canadian songwriter and composer. He also worked as head of production for the Canadian arm of Barclay Records and as a radio station executive. He composed music for several films, including '' The Plouffe Family (Les Plouffe)''. As a student at the Université de Montréal in the 1960s, he was codirector with Denys Arcand and Denis Héroux of the film '' Alone or With Others (Seul ou avec d'autres)'', for which he also composed music. In 2011, Venne was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Francophone SOCAN Awards held in Montreal.
