A&M Records
A&M Records was an American record label founded as an independent company by Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss in 1962. Due to the success of the discography A&M released, the label garnered interest and was acquired by PolyGram in 1989 and began distributing releases from Polydor Ltd. from the UK. Maurice Joshua (born in Chicago, Illinois), usually credited under the name Maurice, is an American record producer. Seduction (band)
Seduction is an American female dance-pop, house and freestyle trio from New York assembled and produced by Robert Clivillés and David Cole (later of C+C Music Factory), originally consisting of members April Harris, Michelle Visage, and Idalis DeLeón. History Intended as a studio project, and prior to any assemblage of the aforementioned trio, the first track produced, "Seduction" (later renamed "Seduction's Theme" on their album), featured vocals by Carol Cooper, and was released to dance clubs and became a top 20 hit on the dance charts. The second single, " (You're My One and Only) True Love" featured uncredited vocals by Martha Wash. Against its producers' expectations, it ended up becoming a hit. Denise Lopez (American Singer)
Denise Lopez is an American Dance/freestyle singer, born in Queens, New York, mainly active in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Background Lopez's first release was in 1984 via TNT Records, under the alias Neecy Dee. This was a single called "Best of Me", but it did not gain any commercial success. In 1985 she was part of a project 'band' called Love Patrol, which released one single under the same name. This was released by 4th & Broadway/Island Trading Co. and again did not gain any notable commercial attention. In 1987, she released her first single under her own name. With assistance from electro and HiNRG producers and remixers John Morales and Sergio Munzibai, "If You Feel It" was released via RCA Victor, where it made No. 22 on the Dance Music/Club Play Singles Chart, and No. 3 on the Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales Chart. Dance Music
Dance music is music composed specifically to facilitate or accompany dancing. It can be either a whole musical piece or part of a larger musical arrangement. In terms of performance, the major categories are live dance music and recorded dance music. While there exist attestations of the combination of dance and music in ancient times (for example Ancient Greek vases sometimes show dancers accompanied by musicians), the earliest Western dance music that we can still reproduce with a degree of certainty are old fashioned dances. In the Baroque period, the major dance styles were noble court dances (see Baroque dance). In the classical music era, the minuet was frequently used as a third movement, although in this context it would not accompany any dancing. The waltz also arose later in the classical era. Brat Pack (band)
The Brat Pack was a vocal duo hailing from New Jersey, US. Its members were Patrick Donovan (born July 26, 1958, in Passaic, New Jersey) and Ray Ray Frazier. Donovan had been the guitarist for house/gospel artists CeCe Rogers and Curtis Hairston. Ray Ray was keyboard player and vocalist in various New York City bands. The Brat Pack were produced by Robert Clivillés and David Cole, who became the multi-platinum founders of C+C Music Factory. They began as a house music club act, and after success with their first single, Clivillés and Cole felt that they had pop-crossover appeal. They toured the UK and the US extensively and made many television appearances, including ''Soul Train'', '' Club MTV'', and the UK television dance show ''The Hitman and Her''.
