Vemb Station 12
Vemb is a little town in west Jutland, Denmark wtith a population of 1,276 (1 January 2022). ''Vemb Kirke'' *1844 ''Vemb'' The first time the town was named, it was called ''Weæm''. The ending letter ''b'' emerged around the year 1600, disappeared, then finally appeared again in 1844 in the present spelling form ''Vemb''. The meaning of ''Vemb'' is not known, but could possibly mean "vi" (Danish for "we"). The oldest building in the current city boundary is ''Vemb kirke'' (Vemb church), which has undergone few changes since it was built around 1200. Just east of the church lies ''Den Gamle Skole'' ("The Old School"), now privately owned, that was the town and area's first school. It is said that in the late 1800s three women met on 1 April in the little school with one classroom. These three women would all reach the age of 100. VLTJ
Vemb-Lemvig-Thyborøn Jernbane (VLTJ) or Lemvigbanen is a Denmark, Danish railway line in Northwest Jutland. Established in 1879, the line extends from Vemb via Lemvig to Thyborøn. The single-track line is mostly level, and is operated with a fleet of five double-unit Y-train railcars. VLTJ has its own workshop and servicing facilities on the line. Until 1 January 2008, the line was operated by the company Vemb-Lemvig-Thyborøn Jernbane A/S, which has been merged with Odderbanen's operating company to form Midtjyske Jernbaner. The railway was used to test a prototype hydrogen-powered train in 2010. Popular culture The railway achieved fame in Denmark, when the band Tørfisk in 1985 wrote the song "VLTJ" describing a trip with the railway. This song later achieved cult status. DSB (railway Company)
DSB, an abbreviation of ''Danske Statsbaner'' (, ''Danish State Railways''), is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. While DSB is responsible for passenger train operation on most of the Danish railways, goods transport and railway maintenance are outside its scope. DSB runs a commuter rail system, called the S-train, in the area around the Danish capital, Copenhagen, that connects the different areas and suburbs in the greater metropolitan area. Region Midtjylland
The Central Denmark Region ( da, Region Midtjylland), or more directly translated as the Central Jutland Region and sometimes simply Mid Jutland, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform. Nørre Vosborg
Nørre Vosborg is a manor house located near Vemb, west of Holstebro in the west of Jutland, Denmark. The original building dates from c. 1532 with additions in 1640, 1750 and the mid-19th century. In 1946, restoration of the complex began under the leadership of H.H. Engqvist. The work was completed by Realdania in 2008, leading to a hotel with conference facilities. Nørre Vosborg is now furnished as a hotel and cultural office with restaurant, cafe and banquet facilities. Architecture The original structure from 1552, now renovated, was in the Gothic architecture, Gothic style. The Ida Lange building (1642) is a half-timbered Renaissance architecture, Renaissance residence while the De Linde building (1770) is Baroque with fine period staircases.
