''VEGAS ROCKS! Magazine'' is a rock music magazine founded in August 2004 by Sally Steele. It covers rock music currently on showcase in the Las Vegas, NV area especially '80s rock music artists. ''Vegas Rocks! Magazine'' is a bi-monthly publication available in print in the Las Vegas, NV area and also in select areas of California and Arizona, and online. Beginning in 2010, the magazine began hosting its yearly "Vegas Rocks! Magazine Music Awards" event in order to honor rock musicians. History ''Vegas Rocks! Magazine'' started in August 2004. Its first issue covered the Van's Warped Tour and was a 14-page newspaper originally titled ''Las Vegas Rock City News''. The title was later changed to ''Vegas Rocks! Sally Steele
Sally Steele ( Craig) is the publisher, founder, CEO and editor-in-chief of '' Vegas Rocks! Magazine''. She also contributes as the head writer and photographer. Steele began her early career in photography and later spent time in various music projects and acting roles. Early life Steele was born and raised in Indiana and took her first interest in rock and roll music as a young child while watching '' The Beatles Animated Series'' which aired in the mid-1960s. At age 14, Sally started photographing celebrities and rock bands such as Kiss, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath. At age 16, Sally started singing in local rock bands and after high school, she moved to Japan to play in a cover band for a brief tour. Wayne Richard Wells (November 4, 1965 – November 1, 2014), known professionally as Wayne Static, was an American musician, best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, keyboardist, and primary lyricist for metal band Static-X. He released his only solo studio album, ''Pighammer'', on October 4, 2011. Skid Row is an American rock band formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. Their current lineup comprises bassist Rachel Bolan, guitarists Dave Sabo and Scotti Hill, drummer Rob Hammersmith and vocalist Erik Grönwall. Sebastian Philip Bierk (born April 3, 1968), known professionally as Sebastian Bach, is a Canadian-American singer who achieved mainstream success as the frontman of the hard rock band Skid Row from 1987 to 1996. Paul Shortino (born May 14, 1953) is an American rock singer and musician who has sung for Rough Cutt/The Cutt, Quiet Riot, Bad Boyz, and Shortino. He briefly recorded with J.K. Northrup as the duo, Shortino/Northrup. He has also recorded as a solo artist, writing and performing the song "E.G.G.M.A.N." as the theme for Dr. Eggman in ''Sonic Adventure 2'' for Sega, and in ''Shadow the Hedgehog'' as "E.G.G.M.A.N. Vincent Samson Appice (born September 13, 1957) is an American rock drummer best known for his work with the bands Dio (band), Dio, Black Sabbath, and Heaven & Hell (band), Heaven & Hell. Of Italian descent, he is the younger brother of drummer Carmine Appice. Career Appice took up the drums at the age of nine, taking lessons from the same teacher as his brother Carmine Appice. When he was sixteen, Appice and his band BOMF met John Lennon at Record Plant Studios. Lennon took a liking to the group and used them as a backing band in several performances, including the final one before his death.
