Vecbebri Manor
Vecbebri Manor ( lv, Vecbebru muižas pils; german: Alt-Bewershof) is a manor house in the historical region of Vidzeme, in northern Latvia. History Vecbebri Manor was built during the first half of the 19th century in Classical style. Severely damaged by fire in 1905, the manor was later restored under the supervision of architect Vilhelms Bokslafs. It became a school building in 1922, and has housed the Bebri comprehensive boarding primary school (''Bebru vispārizglītojošā internātpamatskola'') since 1996. Aizkraukle Municipality ( lv, Aizkraukles novads) is a municipality in Vidzeme, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2001 by merging town Aizkraukle and Aizkraukle Parish the administrative centre being Aizkraukle. The population in 2020 was 8,024. As a part of the 2021 Latvian administrative reform, the municipalities of Aizkraukle, Jaunjelgava, Koknese, Nereta, Pļaviņas and Skrīveri were merged into the new Aizkraukle Municipality. The new municipality encompasses nearly all of the area of the former Aizkraukle District, with the omission of Kurmene Parish and Valle Parish. Wilhelm Ludwig Nikolai Bockslaff ( lv, Vilhelms Ludvigs Nikolajs Bokslafs, russian: Вильгельм Людвиг Николай Бокслаф; , Riga – 9 March 1945, Poznań) was a Baltic German architect working in Riga. He is considered one of the most important representatives of Eclecticism, Neo-Gothic and Art Nouveau styles in the city. He is noted in particular for his construction of churches. Biography Wilhelm Bockslaff was born in Riga on 12 October 1858. His father was the wealthy merchant and industrialist Nicholas Ludwig Bockslaff. In 1878 he started architecture studies in Riga Polytechnicum and graduated in 1885. After graduation, he stayed in the polytechnikum to work as an assistant. He also worked in the offices of architects Johann Koch and Heinrich Scheel. Later he established his own architects office.
