This is a list of palaces and manor houses in Latvia built after the 16th century. Palaces and manors which are now part of the Zemgale region were then part of the Selonia region, and therefore are differentiated for clarity. This list does not include castles, which are listed in a separate article. And as there are more than 1000 manor houses and palaces in Latvia, this list is incomplete. Cēre Manor
Cēre Manor ( lv, Cēres muižas pils, german: Zehren ) is a manor house in Cēres Parish in Tukums Municipality in the historical region of Courland, in western Latvia. History Cēre Manor (Knight Manor) was established in 1352 from the ancient Riga Heinrich county. From 1492 till 1658 the following noble families owned manor: the von Altenbok family, then the family of von Funk, von Rap, von Shilling, Heiking and von Han. The last owners of the manor from 1883 to 1920 were von Knigge family. In the 1860s the two-storeyed manor house of Cēre Manor was rebuilt. The project to modernize the manor house was implemented by Theodore Zeiler, a Kurzeme architect. At the beginning of the 20th century the manor estate had 1022 hectares of land, two half manors (Baltklavs and Lilija manors), a pub and 19 farmhouses. Aizpute Municipality
Aizpute Municipality ( lv, Aizputes novads) is a former municipality in Courland, Latvia. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Aizpute town, Aizpute parish, Cīrava parish, Kalvene parish, Kazdanga parish and Laža parish the administrative centre being Aizpute. Aizpute Municipality ceased to exist on 1 July 2021, when it was merged into the newly-formed South Kurzeme Municipality. The population in 2020 was 8,057. Boja Manor
Boja Manor ( lv, Boju muižas pils) is a manor house in Kazdanga Parish, South Kurzeme Municipality, in the historical region of Courland, in western Latvia. History Boja manor house was built in 1860 for the estate owner Baron von Behr. The Latvian villa-type building is represented by the Boja Manor House; the Gothic shapes here are quite reserved, but also a bit like-minded - the designer did not try to highlight them, but focused on the spatial solution of the volume. Presently the former Boja manor house is primarily used for Forest Museum exposition, which introduces the wealth of Latvian forest and the history of forest management.
