Administrative Divisions Of Latvia
The current administrative division of Latvia came into force on 1 July 2021. On 10 June 2020, the Saeima approved a municipal reform that would reduce the 110 municipalities and nine republic cities to 43 local government units consisting of 36 municipalities (''novadi'') and seven state cities (''valstspilsētas, plural''). On 1 June 2021, the Constitutional Court of Latvia ruled that the annexation of Varakļāni Municipality to Rēzekne Municipality was unconstitutional. In response, the Saeima decided to preserve the existence of Varakļāni Municipality as a 43rd local government unit. Previous municipal reforms after the restoration of Latvian independence were enacted in 2009 and 1990 (when parishes were restored). Tukums Municipality
Tukums Municipality ( lv, Tukuma novads) is a Latvian municipality situated partly in the region of Semigallia, partly in Courland and partly in Vidzeme. The municipality was formed in 2009 by merging Degole Parish, Džūkste Parish, Irlava Parish, Jaunsāti Parish, Lestene Parish, Pūre Parish, Sēme Parish, Slampe Parish, Tume Parish, Zentene Parish and Tukums town; the administrative centre being Tukums. The population in 2020 was 27,613. On 1 July 2021, Tukums Municipality was enlarged when Engure Municipality, Jaunpils Municipality and Kandava Municipality were merged into it. Cēre Manor
Cēre Manor ( lv, Cēres muižas pils, german: Zehren ) is a manor house in Cēres Parish in Tukums Municipality in the historical region of Courland, in western Latvia. History Cēre Manor (Knight Manor) was established in 1352 from the ancient Riga Heinrich county. From 1492 till 1658 the following noble families owned manor: the von Altenbok family, then the family of von Funk, von Rap, von Shilling, Heiking and von Han. The last owners of the manor from 1883 to 1920 were von Knigge family. In the 1860s the two-storeyed manor house of Cēre Manor was rebuilt. The project to modernize the manor house was implemented by Theodore Zeiler, a Kurzeme architect. At the beginning of the 20th century the manor estate had 1022 hectares of land, two half manors (Baltklavs and Lilija manors), a pub and 19 farmhouses.
