Vattnet Viskar
Vattnet, formerly known as Vattnet Viskar, was an American post-metal band from New Hampshire that have released three albums and a self-titled EP. History Formed in Plaistow, New Hampshire in 2010, their name is Swedish for “the water is whispering”. On June 16, 2015, Vattnet Viskar released their sophomore album titled ''Settler'' which was largely inspired by the Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster and Christa McAuliffe in particular. Guitarist Chris Alfieri stated in a June 17, 2015, interview with Decibel Magazine that, "Christa was from Concord, New Hampshire, the town that I live in. One of my first memories is the Challenger mission's demise, so it's a personal thing for me. But the album isn't about the explosion, it's about everything else. Plaistow, New Hampshire
Plaistow (, ) is a town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, United States. The population was 7,830 at the 2020 census. History Plaistow was officially established as a town in 1749 after the 1739 resolution of a long-running boundary dispute between the Province of Massachusetts Bay and the Province of New Hampshire. Post-metal
Post-metal is a music genre rooted in heavy metal but exploring approaches beyond metal conventions. Astronoid is a post-metal band from Lowell, Massachusetts, formed in 2012. Started by vocalist Brett Boland and bassist Daniel Schwartz, the current lineup includes Boland, Schwartz, guitarist Casey Aylward, and drummer Matt St. Jean. They have released two extended plays, ''November'' (2012) and ''Stargazer'' (2013), and three studio albums, ''Air (Astronoid album), Air'' (2016), the eponymous ''Astronoid (album), Astronoid'' (2019) and ''Radiant Bloom'' (2022). Space Shuttle Challenger Disaster
On January 28, 1986, the broke apart 73 seconds into its flight, killing all seven crew members aboard. The spacecraft disintegrated above the Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 11:39a.m. Eastern Time Zone, EST (16:39 Coordinated Universal Time, UTC). Sharon Christa McAuliffe ( Corrigan; September 2, 1948 – January 28, 1986) was an American teacher and astronaut from Concord, New Hampshire, who was killed on the Space Shuttle ''Challenger'' on mission STS-51-L where she was serving as a payload specialist. She received her bachelor's degree in education and history from Framingham State College in 1970 and her master's degree in education, supervision and administration from Bowie State University in 1978. Blackgaze is a fusion genre combining elements of black metal and shoegaze.
