Constantin Dan Vasiliu
Constantin Dan Vasiliu (15 February 1951 – 6 November 2020) was a Romanian politician. Career He was born in Bârlad, Romania, and was the son of Mihai (Melu) Vasiliu and of Lucia Vasiliu (née Perida). He studied economics at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași. After graduation, he worked at the Tepro Company in Iași where he eventually was promoted to Commercial Director of the Company. After 1989, Constantin Dan Vasiliu entered politics. In 1992, he was elected senator for the National Salvation Front; in this capacity, he was vice president of the Senate of Romania from 1994 to 1996. Re-elected in 1996 on the lists of the Democratic Party, he was chairman of the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party. From 1996 to 2000 he was also secretary of the senate's "Budget, Finance and Banking Commission". In 2000 he was re-elected vice president of the Senate. Grigore Vasiliu Birlic (; January 24, 1905 – February 14, 1970) was a Romanian actor who appeared on stage, television and in films. He was best known for comedic roles. Early life Grigore Vasiliu was born on 24 January 1905 into the family of a small businessman on the ''"Pârâul Târgului"'' street in Fălticeni, in the Bukovina region of Romania. As a child he wanted to become a circus clown; however, his parents did not consider acting a serious job, and when he finished the ''"Nicu Gane"'' high school in Fălticeni in 1924, he was sent to study law at the University of Cernăuți. Early career He started in the local theater where he was noticed by Dragoș Protopopescu, the theater director. George Vasiliu
George Bacovia (; the pen name of Gheorghe Vasiliu ; – 22 May 1957) was a Romanian symbolist poet. While he initially belonged to the local Symbolist movement, launched as a poet by Alexandru Macedonski with the poem and poetry collection ("''Lead''"), his poetry came to be seen as a precursor of Romanian Modernism and eventually established him in critical esteem alongside Lucian Blaga, Tudor Arghezi, Ion Pillat, Ion Barbu, and Octavian Goga as one of the most important interwar Romanian poets. In the 1950s, he wrote the poem " Cogito", which is his poetical testament.
