Vasilij Žbogar
Vasilij Žbogar (born 4 October 1975), is a Slovenian sailor. He was born in Koper. Žbogar competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics, where he won a bronze medal and in the 2008 Summer Olympics, where he won a silver medal, both of them in laser class. In 2010, he competed in the Barcolana regatta as a member of the record-setting yacht Esimit Europa 2, winning the event. In 2016, he competed in 2016 Summer Olympics and won a silver medal in Finn class. Koper
Koper (; it, Capodistria, hr, Kopar) is the fifth largest city in Slovenia. Located in the Istrian region in the southwestern part of the country, approximately five kilometres () south of the border with Italy and 20 kilometres () from Trieste, Koper is the largest coastal city in the country. Bojan Tokić
Bojan Tokić (born 13 January 1981) is a Slovenian table tennis player. Career Tokić's first competition was in Montpellier, where he won the ETTU Cup. Via Cagliari, Italy and Ljubljana, Slovenia he transferred to SV Plüderhausen, Germany in the 2000–01 season. He then went back to Slovenia to work within a training group, with which he stayed for three years. In 2003, he returned to Germany to play for TTC Frickenhausen. In 2005–06, he won the ETTU Cup, the DTTB Cup and the German League with the TTC Frickenhausen. In the 2007 European Championships he reached the quarter-finals in the men's singles competition. Tokić has participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he lost in the third round to the eventual champion Ma Lin. Eva Terčelj
Eva Terčelj (born 21 January 1992) is a Slovenian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2007. She won five medals at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (K1: 2019), a silver (K1 team: 2022) and three bronzes (Kayak cross: 2023; K1 team: 2010, 2013). She also won a gold and a silver medal at the European Championships. Terčelj competed at two Olympic Games. She finished in 13th place in the K1 event at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London after being eliminated in the semifinal. Peter Kauzer
Peter Kauzer (born 8 September 1983) is a Slovenian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 1999. Career Kauzer has competed at four Summer Olympics. He finished 13th in the K1 event at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing after being eliminated in the semi-finals. Four years later at the London games he was one of the top favorites for gold in the K1 event. He made the final after recording the fastest time in the semi-final, but after a disappointing run in the final he could only finish in sixth place. He was also the Slovenian flag-bearer at the London games. He won his first Olympic medal, a silver in the K1 event, at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Barcolana Regatta
The Barcolana (slo.: Barkovljanka) is a historic international sailing regatta organized by the yacht club Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano. It takes place every year in the Gulf of Trieste on the second Sunday of October. The Barcolana is one of the most crowded regattas in the world. The Barcolana became the Guinness World Record holder in February 2019 when it was named "the greatest sailing race" with its 2,689 boats and over 16,000 sailors on the starting line.
