Vasileios Sotiriadis
Vasileios Sotiriadis ( el, Βασίλειος Σωτηριάδης) was a Greek politician and representative of Northern Epirus during the struggle for the establishment of the Autonomous Republic of Northern Epirus in 1914. Sotiriadis was from Leskovik, in modern southern Albania. He was one of the two representatives of Leskovik in the Assembly of Delvino in July 1914, where the representatives of Northern Epirus were to ratify the Protocol of Corfu, that granted autonomy to the region. Autonomous Republic Of Northern Epirus
The Autonomous Republic of Northern Epirus ( el, Αὐτόνομος Δημοκρατία τῆς Βορείου Ἠπείρου, translit=Aftónomos Dimokratía tis Voreíou Ipeírou) was a short-lived, self-governing entity founded in the aftermath of the Balkan Wars on 28 February 1914, by the local Greek population in southern Albania (Northern Epirotes). The area, known as Northern Epirus () to Greeks and with a substantial Greek population, was taken by the Greek Army from the Ottoman Empire during the First Balkan War (1912–1913). The Protocol of Florence, however, had assigned it to the newly established Albanian state. Leskovik is a town and a former municipality in the Korçë County, southeastern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality Kolonjë. It is located right at the Greek-Albanian border. Assembly Of Delvino
The Pan-Epirotic Assembly of Delvino ( el, Πανηπειρωτική Διάσκεψη Δέλβινου) was a meeting of the representatives of the Autonomous Republic of Northern Epirus, in June–July 1914, that ratified the Protocol of Corfu. The latter agreement granted an autonomous status for Northern Epirus, as well as a number of rights for the local Greek populations, inside the borders of the newly established Principality of Albania. The assembly took place in the town of Delvinë (southern Albania) with the participation of deputies from all provinces of Northern Epirus. It lasted from June 23 to July 26, 1914, and led to the ratification of the terms of the Protocol of Corfu, despite objections raised by various sides asking for wider autonomy.
