Vardan Minasyan
Vardan Minasyan ( hy, Վարդան Մինասյան; born 5 January 1974) is a former Armenian footballer who played as a midfielder, and is the former football manager of FC Taraz in the Kazakhstan Premier League. Minasyan has been largely credited for advancing Armenia international and domestic football. He led Armenia to a record 3rd-place finish in Euro 2012 qualifications, where Armenia scored 22 goals, in his first qualification cycle. Minasyan was also the longest serving manager of the Armenian national squad to date and has the best match record of all the former managers of the national team. When he resigned in October 2013 after the FIFA 2014 qualifications, Armenia was ranked #38 by FIFA, the highest rank in the Armenia national team's history. It started on 6 April 2008, while the last matches were played on 15 November 2008. FC Pyunik were the defending champions. The 2009 Armenian Premier League season was the eighteenth since its establishment. The season began on 21 March 2009 and ended on 7 November 2009. FC Pyunik were the defending champions. There were no teams promoted from the previous season of the First League. Therefore, Kilikia FC play another season in the top league. Football Club Ararat Yerevan ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Արարատ Երևան), commonly known as Ararat Yerevan, is an Armenian association football, football club based in Yerevan that plays in the Armenian Premier League. Jan Børge Poulsen (born 23 March 1946) is a Danish football manager and former player who played as midfielder, spending most of his professional career at Boldklubben Frem. Coaching career During the 1980s Poulsen coached Boldklubben Frem and Køge Boldklub. In 1990, he was named Richard Møller Nielsen's assistant for the Denmark national team, and he was part of the team that won the Euro 1992. After the win in 1992 he was promoted to head coach of the Denmark U21 national team. He had this job until 1999, when he was named new sporting director of the Singapore national team. When Vincent Subramaniam was sacked in 2001 due to bad results, Poulsen stepped in to replace him. This did not help Singapore and Poulsen himself was sacked in 2002. Tom Jones (born 7 October 1964) is an English football coach and former player who played as a midfielder. Career After starting his career with Weymouth he was signed by Aberdeen, and played 28 league games for them in 1987–88. Jones then moved to Swindon Town, playing his first Football League game for them in 1988–89. He went on to make 168 league appearances for Swindon, before moving to Reading. After 79 league matches for Reading he moved to Woking. He then played a season for Forest Green Rovers, before playing four years at Swindon Supermarine and ending his active career at Shrivenham. John Ian Porterfield (11 February 1946 – 11 September 2007) was a Scottish professional footballer, and an experienced football coach who worked at both club and international level for almost 30 years. At the time of his death, he was the coach of the Armenia national football team. As a player, Porterfield scored the only goal of the 1973 FA Cup Final as Sunderland memorably overcame the odds to beat Leeds United.
