Vanlandi
Vanlandi or ''Vanlande'' (Old Norse "Man from the Vanaheimr, Land of the Vanir"McKinnell (2005:70).) according to mythology was a Sweden, Swedish king at Gamla Uppsala, Uppsala of the House of Yngling in Norse mythology. He was the son of Sveigðir whom he succeeded as king. He married a girl from ''Finnland'', but forgot about her. In revenge, the girl arranged so that Vanlandi was Sleep paralysis, hag ridden to death. He was succeeded by his son Visbur. Sveigðir, ''Sveigder'' or ''Swegde'' (Old Norse "Waving One"McKinnell (2005:70).) was a Sweden, Swedish monarch, king of the House of Yngling in Norse mythology. He was the son of Fjölner, whom he succeeded as king, and he married Vana of Vanaheimr, probably one of the Vanir. Lured by a norse dwarves, dwarf, Sveigðir disappeared into a stone and never came back. He was succeeded by his son Vanlandi. Visbur
Visbur or Wisbur (Old Norse "Certain/Undoubted Son"McKinnell (2005:70).) was a legendary Swedish king of the House of Ynglings and the son of Vanlandi. He was burned to death inside his hall by the arson of two of his own sons in revenge for rejecting their mother and denying them their heritage. He was succeeded by his son Dómaldi. House Of Yngling
The Ynglings were a dynasty of kings, first in Sweden and later in Norway, primarily attested through the poem ''Ynglingatal''. The dynasty also appears as Scylfings (Old Norse ''Skilfingar'') in ''Beowulf''. When ''Beowulf'' and ''Ynglingatal'' were composed sometime in the eighth to tenth centuries, the respective scop and skald (poet) expected his audience to have a great deal of background information about these kings, which is shown in the allusiveness of the references. According to sources such as ''Ynglingatal'' and ''Íslendingabók'', the Fairhair dynasty in Oppland, Norway was in fact a branch of the Ynglings. Saxo Grammaticus held that Eric the Victorious, whom modern regnal lists usually begin with, and his descendents were also Ynglings, but this does not tally with Icelandic sources. Huld
In Scandinavian mythology, Huld is only referenced by ''völva'' or ''seiðkona'', that is a woman who practiced the seiðr. She is mentioned in the ''Ynglinga saga'', ''Sturlunga saga'' and a late medieval Icelandic tale.The article Huld' in ''Nordisk familjebok'' (1909). In the latter source, she is Odin's mistress and the mother of the demi-goddesses Þorgerðr and Irpa. As her name suggests, Huld may be in origin the same being as the Hulder and the German Holda. Ynglinga Saga
''Ynglinga saga'' ( ) is a Kings' saga, originally written in Old Norse by the Icelandic poet and historian Snorri Sturluson about 1225. It is the first section of his ''Heimskringla''. It was first translated into English and published in 1844 by Samuel Laing. ''Ynglingatal'' or ''Ynglinga tal'' (Old Norse: 'Enumeration of the Ynglingar') is a Skaldic poem cited by Snorri Sturluson in the ''Ynglinga saga'', the first saga of Snorri's ''Heimskringla''. Þjóðólfr of Hvinir (Thjodolf), who was a poet for Harald Fairhair (r. 872–930), is traditionally credited with its authorship.
