Vanderpool (also Galltown, Gaul Town, or Woodsborough) is an unincorporated community in Highland County, Virginia, United States. The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. It is a type of gazetteer. State Route 84 (SR 84) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of Virginia. Known as Mill Gap Road, the state highway runs from the West Virginia state line near Mill Gap, where the highway continues west as West Virginia Route 84 (WV 84), east to U.S. Route 220 (US 220) at Vanderpool. Route description SR 84 begins at the top of Allegheny Mountain, which coincides with the Virginia – West Virginia state line and the Eastern Continental Divide.
