USS General Harry Taylor (AP-145)
USNS ''General Hoyt S. Vandenberg'' (T-AGM-10) (originally named USS ''General Harry Taylor'' (AP-145)) was a in the United States Navy in World War II named in honor of U.S. Army Chief of Engineers Harry Taylor. She served for a time as army transport USAT ''General Harry Taylor'', and was reacquired by the navy in 1950 as USNS ''General Harry Taylor'' (T-AP-145). Placed in reserve in 1958, she was transferred to the U.S. Air Force in 1961 and renamed USAFS ''General Hoyt S. Vandenberg'' in 1963 in honor of the former Air Force Chief of Staff. She was reacquired by the U.S. Navy in 1964 as USNS ''General Hoyt S. Vandenberg'' (T-AGM-10). Retired in 1983, and struck from the Naval Vessel Register in 1993, she was to be sunk as an artificial reef originally intended for the spring of 2008, but instead was placed under Federal Lien to be auctioned off for payment recovery in December 2008 at Norfolk Federal Court. Vandenberg (band)
Vandenberg is a Dutch–American hard rock band from Amsterdam and Los Angeles, formed in 1981. The group is named after guitarist Adriaan "Adje" van den Berg (a.k.a. Adrian Vandenberg). Career In 1981, Van den Berg worked with vocalist Jos Veldhuizen, bass guitarist Griff "Studly" McGrath, and drummer Bico De Gooijer in a band called Teaser. This lineup did not last long, and Van den Berg hired Bert Heerink (vocals), Dick Kemper (bass guitar), and Jos Zoomer (drums). They renamed themselves Vandenberg and recorded a demo that came to the notice of journalist Kees Baars. He offered to manage the group and contracted them to Atlantic Records. Their first album, '' Vandenberg'', was recorded at former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page's studio, Sol Studios, and in 1983, their first single, "Burning Heart", reached No. 39 on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot 100 record chart. ''Vandenberg'' is the first studio album by the Dutch hard rock band Vandenberg, released in 1982 on Atco Records. The album was produced by Vandenberg with British sound engineer Stuart Epps and recorded at Jimmy Page's Sol Studios in England. The power ballad "Burning Heart" was released internationally as the single from the album. “Burning Heart” peaked at number 39 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album peaked at number 65 on the ''Billboard'' 200 album chart in 1983 and AllMusic called it "easily one of the most underrated debut metal albums of the '80s."
