Vancouver Island Shootout
The Vancouver Island Shootout was an annual curling bonspiel started in 2011 as part of the World Curling Tour. For the 2011–12 curling season, the event took place at the Juan de Fuca Curling Club in Colwood, British Columbia. The men's event was held in a triple knockout format, and the women's event was held in a round robin format. For the 2012–13 curling season and 2014–15 curling season, the event took place at the Victoria Curling Centre in Victoria, British Columbia Victoria is the capital city of the Canadian province of British Columbia, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island off Canada's Pacific coast. Bonspiel
A bonspiel is a curling tournament, consisting of several games, often held on a weekend. Until the 20th century most bonspiels were held outdoors, on a frozen freshwater loch. Today almost all bonspiels are held indoors on specially prepared artificial ice. Andrew Bilesky
Andrew Bilesky is a Canadian curler from New Westminster, British Columbia. Career Bilesky has skipped teams on the World Curling Tour since the 2009–10 curling season. His best finish to date is as champion at the 2011 Kamloops Crown of Curling. Bilesky won his first Men’s provincial curling championship in 2013 after defeating Brent Pierce in the final. He went on to represent British Columbia at the Brier The Tim Hortons Brier, or simply (and more commonly) the Brier (''french: Le Brier''), is the annual Canadian men's curling championship, sanctioned by Curling Canada. Sean Geall
Sean Geall ( ); (born January 29, 1975 in Surrey, British Columbia) is a Canadian curler from Tappen, British Columbia. Curling career To date, Geall has two provincial championships to his credit, and thus two Brier appearances. Geall and his Royal City Curling Club rink of Brent Pierce, Kevin Recksiedler and Mark Olson won the 2009 Canadian Direct Insurance BC Men's Provincials by defeating Jay Peachey 8-7 in the final. This qualified the team to represent British Columbia at the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier. At the Brier, Geall's team finished the round robin with a 6-5 record, missing the playoffs. Geall would play with the same team for the following season, but formed a new rink in 2010 with Grant Dezura, Scott Meechan and Kevin MacKenzie.
