Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk (; born 11 February 1987) is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial. In 2015, she won the time trial at the first European Games and the silver medal in the team time trial at the world championships. Van Dijk started as a speed skater and as part of her skating training she undertook cycling as part of cross-training in summer. She excelled at both, competing nationally at junior level. Edith van Dijk (born 6 April 1973 in Haastrecht) is a Dutch swimmer and 6-fold world champion. She is Holland's most successful open water swimmer and long distance swimmer, whose career started in 1990 taking part in the Dutch IJsselmeermarathon. Biography She starts out at Gouda's swimming club DONK, the swimming portion of the soccer team of the same name. At DONK teammates gave her the nickname Piaf, due to her having the same first name as Edith Piaf. She was invested as a Knight of the Order of Orange Nassau and was awarded a Doctorate in Economy from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. In the years following the 1990 IJsselmeermarathon she finds her place between the world's top. Johannes ("Jan") Hermannus van Dijk (born 10 December 1956 in Schalkhaar, Deventer, Overijssel) is a retired Dutch footballer and manager. He currently manages Hoofdklasse side Chevremont. Playing career Club Van Dijk is best known for having spent his entire career at FC Groningen, except for a short loan spell to Go Ahead Eagles. His stay with the club spanned from 1975 to 1992, and earned him the nickname "''Mister FC Groningen''", as well as the record for number of appearances with a Groningen jersey (537). Gregoor van Dijk (born 16 November 1981) is a Dutch retired footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Groningen, Van Dijk played for FC Groningen (1998–2000) and Roda JC (2000–2006) before moving to FC Utrecht in the summer of 2006. Gijs Jan van Dijk (; born 11 October 1980) is a Dutch politician and former union leader. He was a member of the House of Representatives for the Labour Party between 23 March 2017 and 8 February 2022. He resigned from the lower house after accusations of undesirable behaviour in the private sphere. A research bureau hired by the party concluded that he had displayed norm-breaking behaviour in and outside the private sphere. Discussion arose about these conclusions and the handling of the investigation by the Labour Party. In several articles it was discussed whether behavior of politicians in the private sphere should always be part of the public discourse.
