Valérie Favre
Valérie Favre (born 1959, Evilard, Switzerland) is a Berlin-based artist. Since 2006 she is Professor of painting at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Background Valérie Favre grew up in the Swiss canton of Berne. Having worked as a stage designer and actress at the theater in Paris in the early 1980s she soon turned to the field of painting. After 18 years in France, where she became a well-known and successful visual artist, she finally moved to Berlin in 1998. Evilard
Evilard/Leubringen is a bilingual municipality in the Biel/Bienne administrative district of the canton of Bern, Switzerland. The French name of the municipality is Evilard and the German name is Leubringen. The municipality contains two separate settlements, called in French Evilard and Macolin, in German Leubringen and Magglingen, and a rural area called in French the Pré de Macolin. History The first appearance of the municipality in written documents was in 1300, under the name of ''Lomeringen''. French speakers are recorded later as using the names ''Evillard'' or ''es Villard'' ("in the town"). A number of monasteries and the Bishopric of Basel held land in this area during the Middle Ages. However, judicially and militarily the town was subordinate to the city of Biel. Musée De Picardie
The Musée de Picardie is the main museum of Amiens and Picardy, in France. It is located at 48, rue de la République, Amiens. Its collections include artifacts ranging from prehistory to the 19th century, and form one of the largest regional museums in France. As an institution, the museum was founded as the ''Musée Napoléon'' in 1802 (the year of the Treaty of Amiens). However, the current building that houses the museum is more recent, being purpose-built as a regional museum between 1855 and 1867. The Second Empire style building was designed by architects Henri Parent and Arthur-Stanislas Diet. It was built thanks to the ''Société des Antiquaires de Picardie'', keen to give the city somewhere to house the collections the society had gathered over decades. Beatrice von Bismarck (born 1959) is a German art historian, curator, author and professor for art history and '' Bildwissenschaft''. Life Bismarck studied art history in Freiburg, Munich, London and Berlin. From 1989 to 1993, she worked at the Städel in Frankfurt and was responsible for solo exhibitions of internationally renowned artists such as Richard Long, Bruce Nauman (1991), Dan Flavin and Jürgen Partenheimer (1993). She then took over as head of the 20th century department of the Städelsches Kunstinstitut for three years. From 1993 to 1999, von Bismarck was an assistant at the University of Lüneburg, where she was co-founder of the Kunstraum of Lüneburg University.
