Vallorbe Railway Station
Vallorbe railway station (french: Gare de Vallorbe) is a station at the border of Switzerland and France on the TGV Lyria line between Paris and Lausanne. It is located at the south-eastern entrance of the tunnel which tunnels one of Jura's mountain ranges, Le Mont d’Or. The station serves the municipality of Vallorbe, in the Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. Opened in 1915, the station is the south-eastern terminus of the historic French Dijon–Vallorbe line, and the north-western terminus of the historic Swiss Simplon line (Vallorbe–Domodossola). It is also the terminal station of the hourly running, suburban train ''S2'' to Lausanne and further to Palézieux. Orbe (river)
The Orbe (french: L'Orbe) is a river of the Rhine basin. It starts in France and flows to Switzerland where it forms the river Thielle at its confluence with the river Talent. Not to be mistaken with the Orbe, which is a tributary of the Arrats. Geography The Orbe has its source near Rousses, forms the lac des Rousses before flowing down to lac de Joux in canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It disappears naturally underground for a stretch of 4 km, to reappear in Vallorbe - where a special ecotourism site was created, the Vallorbe Caves (note, to re-edit - http://www.grottesdevallorbe.ch/). Soon after, in Orbe, the river merges with the Talent and takes the name of ''Thielle''. Flowing through Yverdon-les-Bains, it joins the lac de Neuchâtel. Les Clées
Les Clées is a municipality in the district of Jura-Nord Vaudois in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. History Les Clées is first mentioned in 1134 as ''Clees''. Above the village are the remains of the castle. The keep was restored in the 19th century, but the rest of castle remained in ruins. During the Middle Ages was a city that was granted numerous freedoms in 1272 by the Count of Savoy. It owed its prosperity to the traffic through the Jougne Pass and the tolls that the castle collected on the pass road. Starting in 1536 it belonged to the bailiwick of Yverdon. The city was the center of the Les Clées district or bailiwick, which also included another eight villages. From the 15th century until 1566, the Vallée de Joux also belonged to the district.
