200px, Territory of Giudicarie (green) in Trentino province (gray) Giudicarie (also ''Val Giudicarie'' and ''Valli Giudicarie'', german: Judikarien) is an area of Western Trentino, northern Italy, which includes the upper courses of the rivers Sarca and Chiese. Origin of the name The term "Giudicarie", means "judicial districts" and goes back to legal traditions of the Middle Age. Actually the term ''Judicaria'' was used during the Lombard domination (6th-8th century) to indicate a certain kind of territorial districts descending from a previous Roman military organization. The first reference of this term applied to the territory of Giudicarie has been found in a testament of the Bishop Notecherius of Verona, datable to the year 927, where a ''Judicaria Summa Laganensis'' is mentioned. Lake Of Idro
Lake Idro ( it, Lago d'Idro, also ''Eridio'' from la, Eridius lacus, lmo, Lac d'Ider, german: Idrosee) is an Italian prealpine lake of glacial origin situated largely within the Province of Brescia (Lombardy) and in part in Trentino. At 368 m above sea level it is the highest of the Lombard prealpine lakes. The lake is fed principally by the waters of the river Chiese; that river is also its only emissary. It has a surface area of 11.4 km² and a maximum depth of 122 m. The lake is surrounded by wooded mountains. Campo Carlo Magno
Campo Carlo Magno (elevation 1682 m) is a pass in the Adamello-Brenta mountain region in Italy. It connects the Val Rendena and the Val di Sole. To the west of the pass are the Adamello-Presanella mountains, to the east the Brenta Dolomites. The pass is named after Charlemagne, who is said to have crossed the pass on his way to Rome in 800 AD for his coronation as emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Presanella is a mountain in the Adamello-Presanella range of the Italian Alps of northern Italy. Presanella has an elevation of 3,558 meters and is located in the Adamello Brenta National Park within the Trentino province of Italy.
