Alonso Valiente
Alonso Valiente (1482? in Medina de las Torres – 1564? in New Spain) was a Spanish conquistador. He was Hernán Cortés' cousin and secretary. He was one of the first governors ( Alguacil Mayor) of Mexico City. He was also the first encomendero of Tecamachalco, and he contributed to found Puebla de los Ángeles, where he also served as mayor. Conqueror Alonso Valiente first traveled to the New World with Cristóbal Colón's (Christopher Columbus') last expedition to the continent. He arrived in Santo Domingo in 1508 with Don Diego Colón. Valiente was one of the conquerors of Higüey in today's Dominican Republic and Borinquen (named by Cristóbal Colón San Juan Bautista) in what is now known as Puerto Rico He remained there from 1509 to 1521. José María Valiente Soriano
José María Valiente Soriano (1900-1982) was a Spanish politician. He commenced his career in Acción Nacional and gained recognition as leader of Juventudes de Acción Popular, the youth branch of CEDA. In 1935 he joined Carlism; his political climax fell on the period of 1955-1967, when he was leading the mainstream Traditionalist organisation. After 1971 he unsuccessfully engaged in buildup of conservative monarchist groupings. He served in the Republican parliament during two terms between 1933 and 1936; between 1967 and 1977 during two terms he held a mandate in the Francoist Cortes. In 1937-1942 he was member of Consejo Nacional of Falange Española Tradicionalista. Doreen Edith Dominy Valiente (4 January 1922 – 1 September 1999) was an English Wiccan who was responsible for writing much of the early religious liturgy within the tradition of Gardnerian Wicca. An author and poet, she also published five books dealing with Wicca and related esoteric subjects. Born to a middle-class family in Surrey, Valiente began practising magic while a teenager. Working as a translator at Bletchley Park during the Second World War, she also married twice in this period. Developing her interest in occultism after the war, she began practising ceremonial magic with a friend while living in Bournemouth. Juan Valiente (1505? - † 1553, Tucapel) was a Spanish black conquistador who participated in the expeditions of Pedro de Almagro in present-day Guatemala and Chile. Taken into captivity as a slave in Africa, he was transported to Mexico, where he was purchased by a Spaniard who returned with him to Spain. As a young man, Valiente negotiated a kind of lease - permission to join a conquistador's expedition for the chance to earn profits and buy his freedom. He ended up staying in Chile. Biography Valiente was born with another name in Western Africa. In 1505 he was enslaved and transported to Mexico. Marc Valiente Hernández (born 29 March 1987) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Indian Super League club FC Goa. Bishop Mariano Vivanco Valiente (3 April 1933 in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba – 23 August 2004 in Matanzas, Cuba) was Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Matanzas (1987–2004). He studied humanities, philosophy and theology at El Buen Pastor Seminary in Havana. He was ordained a priest on May 28, 1961 in Havana, Cuba.
