Valentina Gorinevskaya
Valentina Gorinevskaya (russian: Валентина Гориневская; 1882 – 1953), was a military surgeon and trauma specialist. Life Valentina Valentinovna Gorinevskaya was born in 1882 and graduated from the St Petersburg Medical Institute for Women in 1908. She worked in the surgical clinic of Peter and Paul Hospital from 1908 to 1914. When World War I began in 1914, Gorinevskaya became the first woman to become a senior surgeon in a military hospital of the Imperial Russian Army (russian: Ру́сская импера́торская а́рмия). Marilyn Ogilvie
Marilyn Bailey Ogilvie (born 1936) is an American historian of science known especially for her work on the history of women in science. She taught at Oklahoma Baptist University before becoming curator of the History of Science Collections and professor at the University of Oklahoma. She is currently Curator Emeritus, History of Science Collections and Professor Emeritus, Department of the History of Science at the university. Biography Dr. Ogilvie earned an A.B. degree in Biology from Baker University (1957), an M.A. in Zoology from the University of Kansas (1959), plus a Ph.D. in the History of Science (1973) and an M.A. in Library Science (1983) from the University of Oklahoma. Joy Dorothy Harvey (born 1934) is an American historian of science. Life Harvey gained a PhD from Harvard University in 1983. Fozil Fayzrahmonovich Amirov (1914–1979) was an Uzbek Soviet scientist, medical doctor, surgeon, and an expert in topographical anatomy. He held the title of Doctor of Medical Sciences (1960) and Professor (1961). He was an Honored Scientist of the Uzbek SSR and a laureate of the State Prize of the USSR (1974).
