Valen is a village in Nærøysund municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. The village is located at the northern end of the Årsetfjorden right on the border with Nordland county. There is a small canal that separates Valen with the neighboring village of Bogen (which is in Bindal municipality in Nordland county. The canal connects the Årsetfjorden with the Valenfjord to the north. Årsetfjorden is a smaller fjord off of the main Lekafjorden in Trøndelag and Nordland counties in Norway. The fjord lies mostly in Nærøysund municipality (in Trøndelag), but the far northern end of the fjord lies in Bindal municipality (in Nordland). Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag. Bindal is a municipality in the Helgeland region in the extreme southwest part of Nordland county, Norway. The administrative centre is the village of Terråk. Other villages include Bindalseidet, Holm, Vassås, Horsfjord and Åbygda. The municipality is the 81st largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Canal
Canals or artificial waterways are waterways or engineered channels built for drainage management (e.g. flood control and irrigation) or for conveyancing water transport vehicles (e.g. water taxi).
