Dale, Hordaland
Dale () or Dalekvam is the administrative centre of Vaksdal municipality, in Vestland county, Norway. The village lies at the western end of the Bergsdalen valley, about northeast of the village of Stanghelle on the shore of the Veafjorden. The village lies along the European route E16, the Bergen Line (and Dale Station), and the river Daleelva. The village has a population (2019) of 1,193 and a population density of . The small village of Dalegarden at the southern end of Dale is included in the "urban area" of Dale. Dale Church is located in the village. Flatkvål
Flatkvål /fla:kol/ is a village in the Eksingedalen valley in Vaksdal municipality, Vestland county, Norway. The village lies along the river Storelvi, about northeast of the village of Stamneshella. The Modalen Tunnel is located about west of Flatkvål. The village of Nesheim lies about to the east. Flatkvål is the site of Eksingedal Church. History Flatkvål was administratively a part of Voss municipality starting in 1838. On 1 January 1885 the northeastern half of the Eksingedalen valley was separated from Voss to form the new municipality of Evanger (this included Flatkvål). Bruvik (municipality)
Bruvik is a former municipality in the old Hordaland county, Norway. The municipality existed from 1870 until its dissolution in 1964. At the time of its dissolution, the municipality covered on both sides of the Veafjorden, the innermost part of the Sørfjorden, including the southeastern part of the island of Osterøy. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Bruvik where Bruvik Church is located. Stamneshella or Stamnes is a village in Vaksdal municipality, Vestland county, Norway. It is located along the northern part of the Veafjorden, at the entrance to the Vikafjorden. The village is an old church site, with records showing a church in this village dating back to the early 14th century. The present Stamnes Church was built in 1861. The village also has a shop, a daycare centre, and a preschool. There a small bridge over the Vikafjorden on the eastern end of the village. It connects to a small residential area on the other side of the fjord that is surrounded by mountains and the fjord. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. Osterøy (island)
Osterøy is an island situated northeast of the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. With a total area of , it is the largest Norwegian island not located directly adjacent to the ocean, and the second largest such island in Northern Europe. Osterøy is covered by two municipalities: the majority () by Osterøy municipality, and the rest () by Vaksdal municipality. The vast majority of the island's population lives in Osterøy municipality (7,305 inhabitants as of 2008). The island is surrounded by fjords with mainland Norway on all sides of those fjords. Nordhordland
Nordhordland is a traditional district in the western part of Norway. The district consists of the northern portion of the old Hordaland county (now in Vestland county), north of the city of Bergen. It includes the municipalities Alver, Austrheim, Fedje, Masfjorden, Modalen, Osterøy, and Vaksdal. The district roughly corresponds to the Nordhordland prosti, a Church of Norway deanery and also to the municipalities that fall under the Nordhordland District Court.
