Vailoppilly Sreehara Menon Memorial Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, commonly known as GVHSS, Ollur, is a vocational higher secondary school situated in Ollur, Thrissur City and run by the state government of Kerala, in India. It is named after the poet Vyloppilli Sreedhara Menon, who served as headmaster from 1936 to 1966. History The school was started in 1918 by St. Anthony's Forane Church, Ollur, and was later handed over to the government of Kerala. It is situated on 5.5 acres of land. Thrissur Municipal Corporation looks after the school's maintenance. The school celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 1968. Ollur is a major suburban area and an old commercial town in the city of Thrissur of Kerala state, South India. It is about away from Swaraj Round on old National Highway 47 (India) towards Kochi. From ancient time onwards, Ollur was a major business centre in Thrissur district. Now, this geographical area is part of Thrissur Municipal Corporation. Kerala poet and Indian poet Vyloppilli Sreedhara Menon (11 May 1911 – 22 December 1985) (also written as Vailoppilli) was an Indian poet of Malayalam literature. Known for his works such as ''Kudiyozhikkal'', ''Kannikkoythu'' and '' Mambazham'', Menon was the founder president of the Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham, an organization of Kerala-based artists, writers and art and literature enthusiasts. Mullanezhi
Mullanezhi Neelakandan Namboothiri (1948–2011), popularly known as Mullanezhi, was a Malayalam poet, playwright, lyricist and actor from Thrissur in Kerala state of India. He was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award twice: in 1995 for the drama ''Samathalam'' and in 2010 for the poetry collection ''Kavitha''. He wrote more than 70 songs for 25 movies and also acted in films like ''Uppu'', ''Piravi'', ''Kazhakam'' and '' Neelathamara''. Swami Ranganathananda (15 December 1908 – 25 April 2005) was a Hindu swami of the Ramakrishna Math order. He served as the 13th president of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. Biography Swami Ranganathananda, (pre-monastic name Shankaran Kutty), was born on 15 December 1908 in a village called Trikkur near Trichur, in Kerala to Neelakanta Sastry and Lakshmikutty Amma .
