Ollur
Ollur is a major suburban area and an old commercial town in the city of Thrissur of Kerala state, South India. It is about away from Swaraj Round on old National Highway 47 (India) towards Kochi. From ancient time onwards, Ollur was a major business centre in Thrissur district. Now, this geographical area is part of Thrissur Municipal Corporation. It is situated between Kuriachira and Thalore on the National Highway. However, a specific identity for this geographical region is still there due to the urban setting of this region and its important religious institutions. History The first recorded history of Ollur is the establishment of St. Anthony's Forane Church in 1718. Before India's independence, Ollur belonged to Kingdom of Cochin. Thrissur
Thrissur (), formerly Trichur, also known by its historical name Thrissivaperur, is a city and the headquarters of the Thrissur district in Kerala, India. It is the third largest urban agglomeration in Kerala after Kochi and Kozhikode, and the 21st largest in India. The city is built around a hillock called the Thekkinkaadu Maidaanam which seats a large Hindu Shiva Temple. Mullanezhi
Mullanezhi Neelakandan Namboothiri (1948–2011), popularly known as Mullanezhi, was a Malayalam poet, playwright, lyricist and actor from Thrissur in Kerala state of India. He was awarded the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award twice: in 1995 for the drama ''Samathalam'' and in 2010 for the poetry collection ''Kavitha''. He wrote more than 70 songs for 25 movies and also acted in films like ''Uppu'', ''Piravi'', ''Kazhakam'' and '' Neelathamara''. Biography Mullanezhi was born in Mullanezhi Mana, Avinissery, Ollur on 16 May 1948. Though he began to write poems from his childhood, it was Vyloppilli Sreedhara Menon, who discovered the poet in him and guided him in his life and career. The Thrissur Municipal Corporation is the civic body that governs the Thrissur city in Kerala, India. Kuttanellur
Kuttanellur is a residential area situated in the City of Thrissur in Kerala state of India. Kuttanellur is Ward 27 of Thrissur Municipal Corporation. It is around 6 km away from the Swaraj Round. Kuttanellur is home to Oushadhi, a Kerala Government undertaking for manufacturing Ayurvedic medicines and a ''Government Arts College''. Thalore
Thalore is a suburb situated 9 km south of Thrissur city in Kerala, India. It is a part of Thrissur Municipal Corporation and Nenmanikkara Grama Panchayat. Etymology Since Thalore is situated at a slightly higher altitude compared to neighbouring villages it got the name Thaloor (Malayalam: തലൂര്) from the two Malayalam words തല (meaning head) and ഊര് (meaning place). Thaloor later became Thalore. Geography The Infant Jesus Church at a height of 96 feet above sea level, is the highest situated structure in the village.
