Vadim Mogilnitsky
Vadim Anatolyevich Moghilnitsky (russian: Вади́м Анато́льевич Могильни́цкий; 21 September 1935, Odessa — 3 August 2012, Chelyabinsk) — mathematics teacher, musicologist, translator, poet. The author of the first Russian biography of Russian pianist Sviatoslav Richter. Sister - Moghilnitskaya Galina Anatolyevna, Ukrainian pedagog, publicist and poet. Vadim Moghilnitsky was born in Odessa in the family of mathematics teachers Anatoly Alexandrovich Moghilnitsky and Asya Ivanovna Zvintarnaya. Graduated from Odessa University. Since 1965 lived in Chelyabinsk where he taught mathematics in South Ural State University. Chelyabinsk ( rus, Челя́бинск, p=tɕɪˈlʲæbʲɪnsk, a=Ru-Chelyabinsk.ogg; ba, Силәбе, ''Siläbe'') is the administrative center and largest city of Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia. Sviatoslav Teofilovich Richter, group= ( – August 1, 1997) was a Soviet classical pianist. He is frequently regarded as one of the greatest pianists of all time, Great Pianists of the 20th Century and has been praised for the "depth of his interpretations, his virtuoso technique, and his vast repertoire." Biography Childhood Richter was born in Zhytomyr, Volhynian Governorate, in the Russian Empire (modern-day Ukraine), the hometown of his parents. His father, (1872–1941), was a pianist, organist and composer born to German expatriates; from 1893 to 1900 he studied at the Vienna Conservatory. His mother, Anna Pavlovna Richter (née Moskaleva; 1893–1963), came from a noble Russian landowning family, and at one point she studied under her future husband.
