Sunshine Records (Philippines)
Sunshine Records was a Filipino record label owned by Vicor Music Corporation. It was established in the early 1970s by Orly Ilacad, the co-founder of Vicor. ''VST 2'' is the second studio album by Filipino Manila sound group VST & Company released in 1978. It features the disco hits "Swing" and "Step No, Step Yes", which were both featured on the film ''Swing It, Baby'' starring Vilma Santos, Romeo Vasquez, TVJ and VST themselves. Although the actual group played on the first album ''VST'', session musicians were used for this album. "Ikaw ang Aking Mahal" ("You Are My Love") is a song by VST & Company. Its lyrics were penned by songwriter Joey de Leon while the music was composed by Tito Sotto and bassist Spanky Rigor. Released on their debut album ''VST'', the ballad has been recorded by many other Filipino artists. The B-side, the disco number "Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko" ("You Sing and I'll Dance") is also one of the group's biggest hits. It is the last track on the group's debut album ''VST''. Awitin Mo At Isasayaw Ko
"Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko" ("You Sing and I'll Dance") is a disco song by the Filipino group VST & Company. Although released only as a B-side of the ballad "Ikaw Ang Aking Mahal" ("You Are My Love"), it is one of group's biggest hits in the country. The lyrics were penned by Joey de Leon and its melody by Vic Sotto and arranged by Lorrie Illustre. Recorded at Cinema Audio in 1978. De Leon revealed in an interview with Lourd de Veyra on the show ''WASAK'' that Sotto sang the melody to him via telephone and he quickly wrote the lyrics. Librettist and Filipina actress Bibeth Orteza recalls that she was present during the recording of this song and said that she told Vic Sotto about the material, Sotto said to her that there is no way she can present it as a contemporary. "Magsayawan" (English: ''Let's Dance'') is a song recorded by the Filipino disco group VST & Company, written by the songwriting team of Charo Unite and Ernie dela Peña. It was one of the group's biggest hits in the Philippines and was the only hit single not written by the group's principal songwriters, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon. It was recorded at Cinema Audio and released on the group's first album, ''VST'', in 1978. Although only released as a B-side of "Disco Fever", this song was one of the group's popular hits. The song's music video is in the 1979 film ''Swing It, Baby'' with other VST songs by Vilma Santos, Romeo Vasquez, Amy Austria, Tito and Vic & Joey. Marvic Valentin Castelo Sotto (; born April 28, 1954), professionally known as Vic Sotto, is a Filipino actor, singer and comedian known far and wide for his various television and film projects on the major Philippine television networks GMA, TV5, and ABS-CBN. He is one of three pioneer hosts of ''Eat Bulaga!'', which is the longest-running Philippine noontime variety show. Sotto is also a veteran actor and host in the entertainment industry. Tito Sotto
Vicente Castelo Sotto III (; born August 24, 1948), professionally known as Tito Sotto, is a Filipino politician, entertainer and athlete who served as Senate President from 2018 to 2022. Before that, had two stints each as Senate Majority Leader and Senate Minority Leader. He served a total of four terms in the Senate: 1992 to 2004 and 2010 to 2022, tying the record for the longest-serving Senator with Lorenzo Tañada, Franklin Drilon, and Loren Legarda. In between his stints in the Senate, he led the Dangerous Drugs Board for a year. Jose Maria Ramos de Leon Jr. (born October 14, 1946), professionally known as Joey de Leon, is a Filipino comedian, actor, television presenter and songwriter. He hosts the noontime variety show ''Eat Bulaga!'' He is a member of the comedy trio Tito, Vic and Joey that has made several comedy movies and TV shows.
