Sunshine Records (Philippines)
Sunshine Records was a Filipino record label owned by Vicor Music Corporation. It was established in the early 1970s by Orly Ilacad, the co-founder of Vicor. Some of the songs that became hits under the label were "Ang Nobya Kong Sexy" by the APO Hiking Society, "Ang Boyfriend Kong Baduy" by Cinderella in 1976, "Dukha" performed by Judas in 1978, "Pakita Mo" by Archie D. in 1990, & "Kaba" by Tenten Muñoz in 1991. The label became dormant by 1994 and its artists were moved to its parent Vicor. Vicor Music Corporation is a Filipino record label. The name is a combination of the names of the founders, the cousins Vic del Rosario and Orly Ilacad. Randy Gerard Legaspi Santiago (born November 26, 1960) is a Filipino actor, comedian, television host, singer, songwriter, producer, director and entrepreneur. He is the older brother of Raymart Santiago, Rowell Santiago and Reily Pablo L. Santiago Jr. He graduated from De La Salle University. Roman Tesorio Villame (November 18, 1932 – May 18, 2007), better known as Yoyoy Villame, was a Filipino singer, composer, lyricist, actor and comedian. Early life A native of Calape, Bohol Province, Villame was the youngest of ten children of a fisherman father and fishseller mother. He started composing songs for the Boy Scouts in his elementary days. Dropping out after his second year in high school, Villame enlisted to become a soldier-trainee of the Philippine Army. Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez ( ; born April 22, 1970) is a Filipina singer, actress, and record producer. She is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine popular culture and is known for her vocal range and belting technique. Basil Salvador Valdez (; born 8 November 1951) is a Filipino singer. He has received several Tinig Awards and the 1991 Tanglaw ng Lahi Award from Ateneo de Manila University. Biography Like many Filipino singers in the 1970s, Basil S. Valdez started on a solo career as a folk singer. In 1972, he joined the Circus Band and soon after it disbanded, he released his first solo album entitled ''Ngayon at Kailanman''. While in the Circus Band, he met Ryan Cayabyab, who was then part of another band. VST & Company (commonly abbreviated as VST & Co. or simply VST) was a Filipino disco band from Manila, Philippines, founded by Vic Sotto, Spanky Rigor, and Tito Sotto. Hailed as one of the most successful Filipino bands of the late 1970s, the group is considered by many to be one of the original proponents of OPM.
