VOSA
Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) was an executive agency granted trading fund status in the United Kingdom sponsored by the Department for Transport of the Departments of the United Kingdom Government, United Kingdom Government. It was announced on 20 June 2013 that VOSA would merge with the Driving Standards Agency into a single agency in 2014. The name of the new agency was confirmed as the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) on 28 November 2013. The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) is an executive agency of the United Kingdom, UK Department for Transport (DfT). It carries out driving tests, approves people to be driving instructors and MOT testers, carries out tests to make sure lorries and buses are safe to drive, carries out roadside checks on drivers and vehicles, and monitors vehicle recalls. Stephen Tetlow
Brigadier Stephen John Tetlow (born June 1954) is a chartered engineer and former senior British Army officer. Biography Tetlow was born in Basford, Nottingham, and was educated at Burton Joyce Primary School, where he wanted to become a train driver and Carlton le Willows Grammar School. He read Mechanical Engineering at City, University of London, and gained an MSc in Design of Information Systems from Cranfield University and an MBA from The Open University. MOT Test
The MOT test (or simply MOT) is an annual test of vehicle safety, roadworthiness aspects and exhaust emissions required in the United Kingdom for most vehicles over three years old. In Northern Ireland the equivalent requirement applies after four years. The requirement does not apply to vehicles used ''only'' on various small islands with no convenient connection "to a road in any part of Great Britain"; no similar exemption is listed at the beginning of 2014 for Northern Ireland, which has a single inhabited island, Rathlin. The MOT test was first introduced in 1960 as a few basic tests of a vehicle and now covers twenty different parts or systems on or in the car.
