V. M. Vinu is an Indian film director who works in Malayalam cinema. Early life V. M. Vinu was born in a middle-class family in Kozhikode, Kerala. His father, Vinayan is a novelist & playwright. While studying in school, Vinu acted in AIR Dramas like S.K.Pottekad's 'Oru Desathinte Katha' and M.Mukundan's 'Mayyazhi Puzhayude Theerangalil'. He completed his BA Degree course from Calicut University, then completed BTA from School of Drama (Calicut University) under Prof. G. Sankara Pillai. ''Mayilattam'' is a 2004 Malayalam-language action comedy film directed by V. M. Vinu. It stars Jayaram in a dual roles along with Rambha, Indraja, and Jagathy Sreekumar in the pivotal roles. The film was a commercial success at the box office. It was an Onam release of 2004. Plot The life of a normal villager Devan (Jayaram) changes when he becomes the single witness of a murder committed by a local goon (Riyaz Khan). Upon this, he's forced to flee from the village as he accidentally harms the goon as a part of self defense when the goon came at night to finish him. He, along with his brother-in-law (Jagathy Sreekumar), escapes to Singanallur in Tamil Nadu and there he meets his look alike Pazhani. ''Pallavur Devanarayanan'' is a 1999 Malayalam drama film, written by Gireesh Puthenchery and directed by V. M. Vinu, in which Mammootty plays the lead titular role, Pallavur Devanarayanan.
