Utica Community Schools
Utica Community Schools (UCS) is a public school district located in Macomb County, Michigan in the Metropolitan Detroit area. UCS serves the city of Utica, the majority of Shelby Township, the northern portion of Sterling Heights, and parts of Ray, Washington, and Macomb townships in the U.S. state of Michigan. UCS is the second-largest school district in the state of Michigan. Mr. Robert Monroe is the current superintendent of Utica Community Schools. UCS provides education for 29,519 students in kindergarten through 12th grade. There are presently 15,305 elementary students, 6,578 junior high students, and 7,636 senior high students. Utica Community Schools operates 25 elementary schools, seven junior high school and four comprehensive high schools and one alternative education high school. The Dean V is a model of electric guitar and bass released by Dean Guitars in 1977. It forms part of Dean's classic line of guitars along with the Dean ML, Dean Cadillac and Dean Z. Utica Alternative Learning Center
The UCS Alternative Learning Center, or ALC, is an alternative school located in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The school serves students in grades 9– 12 who are unable to attend a traditional high school in the school district. The center also operates as the district's summer school location. District students can either graduate directly from the ALC, or can use the center as a means of improving attendance or Michigan Educational Assessment Program (MEAP) scores, or to regain lost credits to graduate from one of the traditional high schools. Utica High School, known locally as UHS, is one of four public high schools in the Utica Community School District, located in the metro Detroit region. History The forerunner of Utica High School, the Utica Union School, opened in 1860. It was renamed Utica High School in 1900. Henry Ford II High School is a public high school located in the Metropolitan Detroit region in the city of Sterling Heights, Michigan, United States. It is a part of Utica Community Schools. In 2004 Ford was recognized as a Michigan Blue Ribbon Exemplary School. History This school is named after Henry Ford II, the executive officer of the Ford Motor Co.
